Oliver Tree’s foundation launched after his helicopter death

Oliver Tree’s team has launched Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Art Grant for Baby Geniuses, honoring his final wishes to fund artists across music, film, installation, and performance art. A celebration of his life and memorial service is set for July 25 at
Oliver Tree was taken from the world earlier this month in a helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was 32.
Now, his team is moving quickly to carry out his wishes. On Friday, an Instagram post shared on Oliver Tree’s official account announced the launch of Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Art Grant for Baby Geniuses foundation.
In the post. his team said Oliver Tree “was on a mission to bring the world together through art and inspiring other artists to create. ” and that belief became the engine for a new nonprofit. The foundation’s website says it awards money to successful applicants so they can produce and create work in music. film. installation. and performance art.
It also spells out what those projects should do: they “should reflect the spirit of the work Oliver Tree created” in collaboration with the foundation’s board members during his lifetime.
The foundation comes with a personal promise that Oliver Tree laid out just months before his death. On the “Zach Sang Show. ” he said he intended to put all of his money back into supporting artists. explaining that his future family “won’t see a penny” of his wealth. He described the arrangement clearly: “I’ll get my kids through college. that’s the agreement. but there’s not gonna be a silver spoon. All the money is going to go back to artists.”.
Taken together, the announcement on Friday reads like more than a tribute. It’s an attempt to turn Oliver Tree’s final intentions into something working—funding creators now, and tying new projects to the spirit of the work he built with the foundation’s board.
For those who want to be part of what comes next, the Instagram post also revealed plans for a celebration of his life and a memorial service at the UCSC Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz, California on July 25. The event will be streamed live.

Damn, helicopter death but at least they’re doing some artsy grant thing. Still feels unreal.
Wait so his kids won’t see a penny?? Kinda wild but also kinda noble? I don’t even know if that’s how foundations work though.
I saw a clip where he said “bring the world together through art” and I thought that was just a slogan lol. So is this like a charity for music people only or like… all art stuff? feels like it’s in between.
Another celebrity foundation after a death, sure, but I just wanna know if the memorial stream is gonna be free or paywalled. Also Rio helicopter collision?? That’s crazy timing, seems like everyone rushes to do stuff right after.
