Newcastle brace for Tonali talks as window opens

Newcastle United are set for a busy summer transfer window. The trading period is now officially open and there will be a lot of incomings and outgoings at St James’ Park. The Magpies, of course, have already hit the ground running. They clinched the deal to bring young goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen to the club last week and have parted company with Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for around £70million. That exit has put them in a strong position for the rest of the window with money
to spend early. And they hope to spend it quickly, with Osasuna winger Victor Munoz a key target to replace Gordon while the goalkeeper department will continue to be refreshed despite Jaouen’s arrival, with a second stopper set to be bought. In defence, a new right-back is a priority amid Tino Livramento’s ongoing injury issues. It is potential exits which are dominating the agenda though, with Sandro Tonali potentially on his way out of the club amid fresh interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Man City and
Arsenal. We’ll have all the latest Newcastle United transfer news and gossip, plus updates from the World Cup and around the Premier League, right here.

So they sold Gordon for like 70m… and now they’re worried about Tonali? Make it make sense.
I don’t get why they need another goalie already lol. Jaouen last week and now “second stopper”?? Feels like they just buy names.
Tonali to Tottenham seems guaranteed right? Like Spurs always snatch midfielders at the last second. Also if Man City are in it, that means the deal is already done basically.
Newcastle can’t catch a break with Livramento injured again. They keep chasing Munoz from Osasuna like that fixes everything, but then someone like Tonali leaves and it’s just the same team over and over. Also $70 million for Gordon is crazy, wonder if they’ll regret it when the window closes.
