Robert De Niro has played so many gangsters and ne’er-do-wells over the years, it’s always nice to see him on this side of the law.
Adam Scott stars as a crime writer whose son has been kidnapped by a serial killer and De Niro is his estranged detective dad in the psychological thriller “The Whisper Man,” now on Netflix. It’s one of several fresh films streaming, alongside the art-world comedy “The Christophers” and historical action drama “Desert Warrior” on Hulu, plus the genre-mashing revenge flick “Is God Is” – one of the best flicks so far this year – on Prime Video.

Aiysha Hart stars in the action-packed historical drama as an Arabian princess who escapes a ruthless emperor (Ben Kingsley) and is driven into the desert.
