NESN announced Wednesday that it has extended its contract with longtime studio and play-by-play voice Tom Caron.

Caron, a 13-time New England Emmy Award winner, has been with the network since 1995.

His current duties include hosting Red Sox pre- and postgame programming, NESN’s baseball podcast “310 to Left,” and calling Beanpot and Hockey East championship broadcasts.

Caron’s contract would have been up at the start of 2027 spring training. NESN exercised an option to pick up an additional year on his current deal, which assures that he will remain under contract in case there is a Major League Baseball work stoppage following this season.

He will be up for a new deal come spring training 2028.
