The 2026 Little League World Series has announced schedule adjustments for Thursday, Aug. 27, in anticipation of inclement weather in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Both Thursday games – the International semifinal and the United States semifinal – have been rescheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET.
Little League officials said the change became necessary after consulting with meteorologists and evaluating the projected weather impact. According to AccuWeather, Thursday’s forecast calls for humid and cloudy conditions in the morning. As the afternoon approaches, thunderstorms are expected to develop, bringing the risk of heavy, flooding downpours and damaging winds.
“As we approach the conclusion of the Little League Baseball World Series, these children and teams are preparing for some of the biggest moments of their young lives, and we want to do everything we can to provide a playing environment that maintains competitive balance and minimizes disruptions to their game-day experience,” Dan Velte, Little League Vice President of Operations and International Tournament Director, said in a statement.
“After consulting with our experts, we felt it was best to proactively adjust the schedule to minimize the risk of weather interruptions while providing families and fans the opportunity to support their teams.”
The International semifinal will take place at Volunteer Stadium and will be broadcast live on ESPN2. The United States semifinal will be held at Lamade Stadium and air live on ESPN, with a rebroadcast scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
