The 2026 NBS Bank National Division League (NDL) is set for kickoff after all 12 member teams were awarded full club licences.. Football Association of Malawi (Fam) awarded the licences to the teams for the 2026-27 season following a review by its Club Licensing First Instance Body on April 4.. “All 12 teams successfully fulfilled the licensing requirements for the upcoming season, marking significant progress compared to the inaugural campaign, where only eight out of
12 teams were granted licences.. “Fam noted that the licensing seminar conducted earlier played a critical role in strengthening understanding of governance standards, operational compliance and club licensing requirements, with clubs showing improved commitment to meeting regulations,” a report on Fam’s website reads.. The website quotes Fam Club Licensing Manager Clement Kafwafwa as expressing satisfaction with the results.. “We, as an association, are pleased and satisfied with the work these NDL teams have performed by
fulfilling club licensing requirements, and we are hoping to see another competitive season,” it quotes Kafwafwa as saying.. He added that the outcome reflected meaningful progress under Fam’s football transformation agenda.. “The results have shown an improvement and provided a true reflection of where our game of football is heading.. This means we are moving in the right direction,” he told the online publication.. The league’s member teams are Ndirande Stars, Bangwe All Stars, Fomo
FC, Mighty Tigers, Chilobwe United, Ntaja United, Changalume Barracks, Namitete Zitha, Extreme FC, Mzuzu City Hammers, Songwe Border United and Embangweni United..
