Nancy Mace reveals tattoos, years after getting them

Nancy Mace got new tattoos, and she’s showing them off.

The former Republican lawmaker gave followers and podcast audiences a sneak peak of her tattooed arms during the introduction of her podcast “Get Maced.” The new intro shows Mace in different attire, including tank tops and bikinis, which display her tattoos. The 30-second intro clip appears to have aired first on Aug. 11, with a podcast episode.

Mace, in a February interview with Politico, revealed she got nine tattoos between 2023 and 2024, around the time of a breakup with her fiancé and the removal of a benign tumor from her uterus. She told the publication the tattoos were to “reclaim her body,” and for “the pain that I need to feel.” Mace, 48, did not share the details on her tattoos or what each of them signify.

One of the tattoos appears to be of a Christ-like figure, while another seems to be an eagle. The word “Justice” can also be seen. One tattoo, according to Politico, reads, “Mrs. Dalloway said she would buy the flowers herself” – an opening line from a Virginia Woolf novel. Mace’s representatives did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for a comment.

‘Trump in high heels’

Mace is a conservative who in 2025 called herself “Trump in high heels,” but she and the president have had their differences.

Mace last year was among four House Republicans – along with Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia – who joined Democrats to compel the U.S. Justice Department to release its files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“I know I put the likelihood of an endorsement on the line when I demanded transparency on the Epstein files,” Mace said in a May 29 post. “If sacrificing my values is the price of an endorsement, I will never pay it.”

Trump publicly endorsed Mace’s rival Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette as she sought her party’s nomination for the South Carolina governor’s race.

Later, despite coming last in South Carolina’s June gubernatorial primary, Mace teased a run to take Sen. Lindsey Graham’s seat after his death. The former congresswoman, who primary challenged Graham in 2014, in a July 12 post on X uploaded a clip of Al Pacino’s Michael Corleone character saying, “Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in” from the film “The Godfather Part III.”

Mace did not run for the seat, saying she’s “backing down from a fight” because “the one I’m already in matters right now.”

“The laws meant to protect me and other women failed us. And I won’t stop until that changes,” Mace had said in a July 20 video announcement. “So, I’m not chasing another title. I’m chasing justice. Justice for me, justice for other women, and justice for every little girl who was told to stay silent.”
