FOUR golfers from clubs in Nairn have been selected for the North Squad to play at a major tournament next month. Nairn Dunbar Golf Club is set to host the Women’s Inter County Jamboree which is taking place between June 13-15. It led to the North becoming national champions for the first time in 16 years as they claimed victory at the Scottish Women’s County Finals at Alyth last season. Nairn Dunbar Golf Club duo Iona Reid and Kaci Robertson have been selected in the
squad. They are joined by Nairn Golf Club Sammy Fotheringham and Carinne Taylor. Also in the squad are Royal Dornoch duo Caitlin Boa and Cara Thompson along with Ellie Docherty from Moray Golf Club and Eleanor Tunn from Reay. Jenny Milne from Elgin is the captain of the North squad along with Laura Durrand from Thurso named as assistant captain. Do you want to respond to this article? So they’re “defending” the North title but it says they won national champions last season… I’m lost lol. Either way, nice for Nairn Dunbar I guess.
June 13-15 at Nairn Dunbar… I’ve never heard of a Women’s Inter County Jamboree before. Is this like mini golf or actual courses? Also Alyth sounds like it’s in the US? Idk.
This is wild—North hasn’t been national champs in 16 years and now they’re doing it again? Meanwhile we can’t get my local course to fix the sand traps. Iona Reid and Kaci Robertson better not choke or whatever. Also Jenny Milne being captain like that’s a big deal, right?
