MTN South Africa, Pi, LotusFlare, DNO Cloud, digital brand, cloud-native BSS, eSIM orchestration, 5G mobile, fixed wireless, travel eSIM, app-first customer experience
So like… no contracts and no credit checks means it’s basically free? Don’t they still charge for the 5G somehow?
I don’t get it. “Pi” sounds like an app but they’re calling it a digital brand for telecom? I feel like this is just marketing fluff and then somehow there’s still a call center.
Wait, eSIM orchestration? Isn’t that just like setting up your phone online? Also “travel eSIM services” makes it sound like they’re changing roaming again, which is usually a ripoff.
LotusFlare powering MTN’s Pi with DNO Cloud… so who’s actually in charge, MTN or some Californian cloud company? Feels like they’re skipping regulation or something even if they say it’s compliant. I’m sure it’ll be great until the billing glitches.
