Riddle rose to mainstream attention after she began dating US tennis player Taylor Fritz in 2020. Their relationship ended recently, and since the breakup she has repeatedly underlined a hard line for her next romance. In a 33-point non-negotiables list she described to Elle, she said she won’t date athletes again.
“I made, like, a 33-point non-negotiables list for [my next relationship],” Riddle said. “It has basic things like political alignment, shared life goals, intellectual intimacy, no sports betting or gambling, only makes my life happier.”
“I’ll never date an athlete again,” she added.
Her vow, though, met instant pushback from her followers. While Riddle kept attention on the World Cup, Fritz’s tennis weekend carried its own headline. The US player fell to fellow American Frances Tiafoe in Halle, Germany, on Sunday, losing 6-4 6-4. Tiafoe’s win gave him his first tournament title of the year and the fourth of his career.
