Mickelson’s Alleged Photo Demand Reignites Old Fury

Ashley Perez says Phil Mickelson, during a New Jersey stay in 2015, showed her a full-body nude photo while Pat Perez was in the bathroom and propositioned her—after which their friendship reportedly never recovered.

Phil Mickelson’s name is back in the headlines on an allegation that dates to 2015—one Ashley Perez says she is only sharing now.

Perez, Pat Perez’s now ex-wife, describes an evening during a tournament in New Jersey when she and her husband stayed at a villa Mickelson owned. She says the two of them and Mickelson were drinking red wine on the patio when Pat got up to go to the restroom.

That’s when she claims Mickelson grabbed his phone and pulled up what she describes as a full-body nude photo—showing an erect penis and Mickelson flexing his bicep.

Ashley says Mickelson then told her, “I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep I want you to come see me.”

She says she was shocked, but held off on telling Pat right away. Her reasoning, as she tells it, was that she didn’t want things to “get messy” and because she knew Pat had to finish playing in the tournament.

After the tournament ended, she says she finally came clean about what Mickelson allegedly did. She adds that Pat didn’t confront Mickelson over it at the time—though she also claims the fallout was far from calm.

“Years later,” Ashley says, Pat went on a podcast and trashed Mickelson, without laying out the reason in full. In Pat’s words on the show, he said, “I have a different hate for Phil than most people. And people won’t know the story. I’m not gonna go into the story again. but Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable.”.

Ashley also recounts Pat’s follow-up message: “He knows that he screwed up. He apologized for the action, but I cannot forgive him for it.”

As for Mickelson, Ashley says there was a mea culpa on multiple occasions, including an alleged 26-minute phone call with the couple. Still, she says the friendship never recovered.

The decade-old allegation is resurfacing amid newer claims that Mickelson was reportedly kicked out of a fancy country club earlier this year after a female employee accused him of making unwanted sexual advances.

Mickelson’s team did not directly deny Ashley Perez’s account, but they also did not confirm its veracity. In a statement, they said, “Some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately. Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible. It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative.”.

Between Ashley Perez’s account and Pat Perez’s later anger—his “uncrossable and unforgivable” line—one thing stays consistent: even if apologies came, the relationship damage, as described here, did not.

  1. I feel like this is one of those things where nobody really knows what happened, but the headline sounds bad sooooo it’s probably true. Also Pat didn’t confront him right away?? Makes sense why it would mess up the relationship.

  2. Wait, I thought this was about golf and swing stuff, not phone calls and biceps lol. 2015 and then a podcast years later… sounds like drama gets recycled. If his team says some allegations are false, then why not just clear it up fully? I’m confused how “mea culpa” doesn’t mean it’s over.

  3. Red wine on the patio and then suddenly a dick pic? That’s not a misunderstanding, that’s a crime in my head. But now they’re saying he was kicked out of a country club too… I don’t even care if it’s all the exact same story, like creepy behavior is creepy behavior. Pat saying “uncrossable and unforgivable” is pretty much all I need to hear. Still, they won’t confirm anything, which makes it even more annoying because you just want the full truth.
