The sighting lands with a wider NBA shadow hanging over the weekend. Not long ago, it emerged that Jordan and NBA commissioner Adam Silver both tried hard—but failed—to end the feud between New York Knicks great Charles Oakley and team owner James Dolan.

Oakley has been banned from Madison Square Garden since being violently ejected from a game nearly a decade earlier. A fan favorite, Oakley was a teammate of Jordan’s in Chicago before being traded to New York for Bill Cartwright in 1988.

Silver addressed the dispute in the build-up to the NBA Finals. answering a question about whether peace could still be found. “I tried. Michael Jordan tried. to broker peace between Charles Oakley and Jim Dolan. ” Silver said before the NBA Finals opener in San Antonio. He added: “Our efforts were unsuccessful. I think it’s unfortunate for the NBA… but it’s currently in litigation. I tried my best; I don’t really see anything else I can do at the moment.”.

An NBA spokesman, contacted about the dispute, said Silver’s efforts to end the feud took place in 2017. Oakley’s ongoing beef with Madison Square Garden began in February 2017, when he was arrested after an altercation with MSG security officials that started while he was seated near Dolan.

The evening in Mykonos showed Jordan in complete holiday mode—walking in step with Prieto. smiling with friends. and heading from yacht to dinner with an entourage. But the NBA backdrop remains unresolved in the courts. with Silver’s message leaving little doubt that even high-profile attempts to bridge the gap between Oakley and Dolan have not moved the case forward.

  1. Wait, so Adam Silver tried to end the beef between Oakley and Dolan and it’s still “in litigation”?? That sounds like the NBA just wants it quiet but can’t legally fix it. Also Jordan smoking a cigar on vacation is like… of course.

  2. I read this and thought the whole thing was about Jordan and Silver having a feud, not Oakley and Dolan. Like they’re saying “wider NBA circle” and I’m like okay so why is Silver involved?? Idk, rich people problems I guess. Doesn’t even mention anything new, just dinner pics.

  3. The headline says $155m yacht but I’m stuck on the fact they “didn’t ease into their evening” like what does that even mean, were people booing?? Also Oakley being arrested near Dolan… I always assumed Dolan caused everything, but then again it says it started with MSG security. Court stuff is messy, just like sports media drama.
