A newly released 927-page financial disclosure shows First Lady Melania Trump received $10.71 million in 2025 proceeds from a Brett Ratner-directed Amazon MGM Studios film under a license agreement—along with $521,000 from her 2024 memoir, “Melania.” The figur

Melania Trump’s movie was already turning heads on screens—now it’s turning up on the president’s financial paperwork.

On June 30, a 927-page financial disclosure report released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics offered a window into President Donald Trump’s finances more than a year into his second term. Tucked inside the filing was information about First Lady Melania Trump’s income. including money connected to a Hollywood production tied to the Trump name.

The disclosure lists that the Brett Ratner-directed Amazon MGM Studios film generated $10.71 million in proceeds for the Trumps in 2025 through a license agreement. The first lady also reported $521,000 in income in 2024 from the same type of license agreement tied to her memoir, “Melania.”

The timing couldn’t be separated from the film’s rollout. The Amazon title, produced under Melania Trump’s new production company Muse Films, was released in 1,500 theaters on Jan. 30 and later arrived on Amazon Prime Video. It grossed $16.7 million worldwide after netting an estimated $7 million in ticket sales during the film’s opening weekend.

In the days leading up to the release, President Trump urged supporters to buy tickets for the movie, including posting that tickets were “Selling out, FAST!” and calling it a “must watch” film.

A day after the Prime Video debut. the first lady celebrated the movie’s prominence as the most-watched title on the streamer’s charts. The attention followed a turbulent launch for the earlier “Melania” documentary. which faced poor critical reception and “startling” box office performance earlier this year—an arc that now feeds into what the film’s financial footprint might mean for the Trump household.

The deal itself has drawn skepticism from lawmakers. Amazon has denied accusations, including those raised by Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Hank Johnson, that its bid for the project was aimed at currying favor with the Trump administration. The Democrats launched an investigation into what they described as “a corrupt pay-to-play arrangement with the Trump administration. ” with the goal of securing favorable treatment on antitrust suits. potential tariff exemptions. foreign trade deals. federal contracts. and tax cuts.

The numbers also sit alongside a spending figure that has intensified scrutiny. The Jeff Bezos-owned studio reportedly spent $75 million on the project after purchasing the rights to release it for $40 million and then putting an additional $35 million into marketing.

The film is 104 minutes long and follows Melania Trump in the 20 days leading up to her husband’s inauguration for his second term as president. The cameras track her through dress fittings, brief interactions with the president, and preparations for her return to the White House.
