Mattapan stabbing kills one as detectives probe

For a Monday night in Mattapan, the violence ended with one person pronounced dead after police responded to a stabbing call at 25 Astoria St.
Boston police said that at 8:26 p.m., officers were sent to the home after reports of a stabbing. Police found a male victim inside the residence with a stab wound. First responders treated his injury at the scene before taking him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Investigators also found a second stabbing victim. That person suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said. A spokesperson for the Boston Police Department told Boston.com that no additional information was provided about the second victim.
Boston homicide detectives are investigating the incident. Police said anyone with information is “strongly urged” to contact the Homicide Unit at 617 343-4470.
