Pittsburgh Mayor – Just hours before his June 6 Pittsburgh concert, Morgan Wallen canceled over forecasted scattered thunderstorms. But Mayor Corey O’Connor now disputes Wallen’s claim that he consulted city officials, saying there was no contact with Public Safety or his admini
Morgan Wallen’s Pittsburgh concert didn’t last long in the countdown before it was abruptly gone.
Hours before he was scheduled to hit the stage at Acrisure Stadium, the 33-year-old country singer announced his Saturday (June 6) show in the Pennsylvania city was being canceled, pointing to forecasted scattered thunderstorms in the area.
In a statement posted on social media. Wallen said: “After talking with local officials and my team. there is no choice but to cancel tonight’s show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night.” He added that “Safety for my fans and crew is the highest priority” and wrote. “Refunds available at point of purchase.”.
But Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor is now pushing back on Wallen’s version of events.
O’Connor said Wallen had “no contact” with city officials before the cancellation. “There was no contact to Public Safety or my administration. so however the artist and his team picked to not have the show. that was on them. ” O’Connor said KDKA Radio. according to Audacy. He also addressed Wallen’s claim that he consulted officials. saying. “If you’re going to say that you consulted … that’s one story. We, again, had no record of that, from public safety director all the way down.”.
The mayor also claimed he heard that Acrisure Stadium was not notified of the last-minute cancellation in advance.
After canceling the Pittsburgh show, Wallen doubled down on his assertion that local officials advised his team to cancel.
The dispute lands as Wallen faces fresh scrutiny tied to his behavior at two recent concerts. After a technical issue at one show, he flipped a piano. At another concert, he threw a fan’s phone across the stage—adding extra fuel to the backlash around this latest chain of events.

No contact? Sounds like the mayor just wants control of the narrative.
So Morgan Wallen cancels cuz of thunderstorms, but now the mayor says he never even talked to anyone?? I mean weather is weather, right? This feels like PR drama more than safety.
Wait I thought he said he talked to city officials like right before. If there’s “no record” then who is lying, the mayor or his team? Also why didn’t the stadium get warned, that’s the part I don’t get. Seems messy all around.
This is probably just celebrities being petty. Like of course they say “safety first” and then it turns into blame. I don’t even know why people care about paperwork records, storms were literally forecasted. Next thing you know they’ll say the thunderstorms were fake too.
