Marjorie Taylor Greene joins Tucker Carlson GOP split
Marjorie Taylor Greene says she is “done” supporting the Republican Party on June 22, days after Tucker Carlson said he won’t back the GOP in the midterms, signaling a widening revolt among figures once loyal to the party.
Tucker Carlson didn’t just criticize the Republican Party—he drew a line under it, and Marjorie Taylor Greene crossed the same one just days later.
In a public break from the GOP ahead of the midterm elections, Carlson said he would not support Republicans in the midterm contests. In a recent episode of the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast, he said there was “no chance” he would back the party, pointing to deep frustrations with where it is headed.
On Monday, June 22, Greene echoed that defiance with a blunt message of her own. She said she was “done” supporting the Republican Party and announced she would be joining Carlson after his departure from the GOP.
After Carlson’s podcast, Greene posted on X declaring, “Tucker is not the only one who is done supporting the Republican Party.” She added: “There is A LOT of us that are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country.”
Greene emphasized she is not switching sides to Democrats. “That does not mean we are turning into Democrats either,” she wrote. But her break from the GOP came with an even sharper ending: “But we are DONE with the America LAST Republican Party.”
The timing matters. Greene’s move followed Carlson’s, and within days she moved from private skepticism about her party identity—something she had already raised publicly—to a direct refusal to support it in the run-up to the midterms.
Their shared stance also lands as the distance between the GOP and President Donald Trump keeps widening. Greene’s comments arrive against a backdrop of friction inside Republican politics that has already forced her to question whether she still belongs to the party.
In an April interview with Politico. Greene said she didn’t know if she still considered herself a Republican: “I don’t really know if I do consider myself one right now. ” she said. “I would say I’m definitely leaning more calling myself an independent. … I haven’t changed yet. But I will probably think pretty deeply about doing that.”.
The dispute with Trump sharpened after Greene criticized the administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, putting her at odds with Trump and other Republicans. That clash appears to have accelerated the breakdown between her and the White House.
Trump’s response was personal. He began referring to Greene as “Marjorie Traitor Greene.” Greene later chose not to seek reelection to her U.S. House seat and resigned from Congress at the start of the year.
Taken together, the sequence is clear: Carlson’s refusal to support Republicans in the midterms came first, Greene followed within days, and both moves reflect how quickly once-loyal allies are shifting from internal complaints to public disavowals.
Where the party goes from here is now the question the political calendar can’t dodge. Greene’s declaration—paired with Carlson’s insistence there is “no chance” he’ll support the GOP—puts pressure on Republicans to address the underlying anger before the midterms arrive.
For now, the split isn’t just rhetorical. It’s staged, public, and timed to the election season—coming from figures who have spent years shaping conservative attention even as they now reject the party they once defended.

So are they quitting the GOP or just posting drama again?
This is gonna split everything again.
I don’t get it, didn’t Tucker Carlson already get fired from Fox? Now he’s basically telling people not to vote GOP and Marjorie’s like yeah me too. But she says she’s not going Democrat… ok so who are you voting for then?
This sounds like one of those ‘we’re done’ announcements that just means she won’t donate or something. Like it’s not really about the election, it’s about getting attention before midterms. Also America Last Republican Party? Isn’t that kinda what BOTH sides act like sometimes?
So Tucker Carlson “won’t back” the GOP and now she’s done too? I feel like they’re just doing this for attention. But also I can’t blame anyone, both parties keep betraying people. Not saying I’m voting for Dems though lol.
Greene saying she’s done supporting the Republican Party… does that mean she’s endorsing Trump still or not? Because the article says Trump is widening distance from the GOP, but then it says she’s not turning into Democrats. So she’s just floating in the middle? Idk. Half these people say they’re independent but it’s like the same fight with different vocabulary.
Wait what, I thought Carlson was still kinda Republican? Like this article says he “drawn a line under it” but I swear he used to be against Trump too. Greene saying she’s not turning into a Democrat is classic, like that’s not what happens anyway. They’re just trying to make it sound like they’re independent now.
America last party… sure, okay. I’m confused because Tucker got kicked out of somewhere and now suddenly everyone “joins him” like it’s a club. Greene always posts stuff that sounds dramatic and then nothing changes. Also if she “won’t support” Republicans in the midterms, then who’s she supporting because it’s not like Democrats magically approve. This is probably more about vibes than actual policy, and I’m sick of all of it.
