Margo’s Got Money Troubles Renewed for Season 2 on Apple TV

Apple TV has renewed Margo’s Got Money Troubles for a second season, starring Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, and Nicole Kidman.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles is already gearing up for another round of financial chaos and family heart, because Apple TV has renewed the critically acclaimed comedy series for a second season—bringing Elle Fanning and the rest of the cast back for what’s shaping up to be an even messier ride.

The streaming platform announced the renewal on May 13. confirming that Margo’s Got Money Troubles will return with new episodes on Apple TV.. The show stars Elle Fanning. Michelle Pfeiffer. Nick Offerman. and Nicole Kidman. and it’s been drawing attention for blending humor with real emotional stakes.

At the center of the story is Margo. played by Fanning. a recent college dropout and aspiring writer trying to keep her life from falling apart.. The series follows Margo as she’s forced to figure out how to manage a new baby. a mounting pile of bills. and fewer and fewer options for paying them—turning everyday stress into the kind of comedy that still lands as heartfelt drama.

The character relationships give the show much of its warmth and momentum.. Margo is the daughter of her mother. an ex-Hooter’s waitress portrayed by Pfeiffer. and her father. an ex-pro wrestler played by Offerman.. That mix of backgrounds is part of what fuels the series’ family dynamics. with each character adding their own blend of grit. humor. and vulnerability.

The series is based on the 2024 novel of the same name by Rufi Thorpe.. Apple TV’s adaptation frames the story as bold. heartwarming. and comedic—suggesting that the tone isn’t just about laughs. but about the messy reality of trying to build something meaningful while money problems keep getting louder.

In addition to starring as Margo, Elle Fanning also serves as an executive producer.. With the renewal news. she shared that bringing the character to the screen has been one of the greatest joys of her life. describing the original feeling she found when she first read Thorpe’s story and how it became something special through the writing and the performances of the cast.

Fanning also teased what audiences can expect from another season. emphasizing that more of Margo’s troubles—along with her creativity. fearless spirit. and authenticity—will continue to reach viewers.. Her message pointed to an experience that’s “wild. ” “messy. ” and “beautiful. ” a promise that the series won’t shy away from the emotional messiness that comes with family life and financial pressure.

Meanwhile. the renewal also reinforces Apple TV’s broader commitment to its comedy-drama lineup. especially series that lean into character-driven storytelling rather than pure spectacle.. For viewers. it means the clock on Margo’s bills doesn’t slow down—if anything. the show’s mix of parenting stress and financial strain is set to remain front and center.

New episodes of Margo’s Got Money Troubles are released on Wednesday on Apple TV. The renewal arrives as Apple TV continues to update fans with its slate—alongside the shows it has canceled and renewed so far in 2026.

  1. I swear I saw something about this being canceled and now it’s renewed?? Maybe Apple just changes its mind like every week. Elle Fanning better not be doing that weird baby plot for the whole season…

  2. Wait her dad is an ex-wrestler?? Nick Offerman just keeps getting cast as random dads lol. Also “financial chaos” is the new genre now I guess. Are they gonna like not pay bills by season 2 or what.

  3. This show sounds like a movie I watched where the girl drops out and then has a baby and then it’s all money stress, but I can’t remember the title. If it’s based on that 2024 novel then maybe they’ll finally fix the bills? Or Apple will drag it out for like 10 episodes and call it comedy. Michelle Pfeiffer is in it so I’m gonna watch anyway even if it’s confusing.
