Man dies crossing I-75 near Fletcher Avenue struck twice

A Tampa man died after being hit by two vehicles while trying to cross the southbound lanes of I-75 near Fletcher Avenue around 11:30 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash briefly shut down all southbound lanes before reopening.

The first vehicle was a Nissan Sentra driven by a 57-year-old woman from Sun City Center.. Troopers said the second vehicle was a Lincoln MKZ driven by a 20-year-old woman from Lakeland.. The man died at the scene.
The crash closed all southbound lanes of I-75 for several hours on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, but the lanes have since reopened.
