Madonna Says “School Is in Session” on “Confessions II” Track

Madonna declares – Madonna turns “School” into both a lesson plan and a love song on her “Confessions II” album, insisting “School is in session” while laying out the track’s themes and creative team ahead of the album’s July 3 release.
Madonna kicks off her new track “School” with a simple instruction that sounds like it came straight from the front of the classroom.
On the hot new song. featured on her upcoming album Confessions II. the 67-year-old Queen of Pop steps into both roles—teacher and student—declaring: “There’s only one thing I like more than sharing what I know with other people. and that’s learning. Please, someone, teach me something I don’t already know.”.
“School,” arriving with Confessions II, is set for release on Friday (July 3). In the track’s credits, Madonna is listed as a producer alongside Mustapha, Stuart Price, Triangle Park and Lanita Smith.
The lyrics move fast from instruction to longing. Madonna sings. “I only need two things (Trust like this) / You get me so crazy (Sex. romance) / I think I need to show you the way (Blind ambition) / ‘Cause. baby. I’m not your mother / I’d rather be your lover. lover. lover. lover. ” directly referencing her Bedtime Stories song “I’d Rather Be Your Lover.”.
She later makes the lesson feel physical, too: “I can make moves on the dance floor / I can make love on a man’s floor / Tell me you’re a man but you’re not so / School is in session,” she proclaims.
Beyond the lines. Madonna also ties the idea of “school” to how people grow—especially without the modern shortcuts of constant messaging. She recently shared in a chat with Interview Magazine about her new album that, “There’s no soul in texting. I’m happy I grew up without all that, because it made me go to museums. That’s how I discovered Frida Kahlo. When you have to go out to learn and meet people, you have such a different experience in life.”.
Now, with “School” out, the only question is whether the lesson lands the way Madonna intends—one dance-floor command at a time.
