On BBC One’s The Graham Norton Show, which aired on Friday, June 26, the 67-year-old pop icon was asked straight out about the growing speculation that Kylie Minogue could be featured on Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II.

“There are rumors that Kylie is on Confession II. Is this you confirming that rumor?” Graham Norton pressed.

Madonna didn’t give him a straight yes or no. Instead, she smirked and played it cool, saying it’s her “job to be mysterious.” Kylie, 58, laughed off the moment and added that Madonna is “good at deflecting.”

The conversation quickly slid into what they’ve already shared recently. The two reflected on Kylie’s surprise appearance at Madonna’s Celebration Tour show in Los Angeles in May 2024, where they performed “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” Kylie called it “a moment,” saying, “I absolutely loved that.”

Graham, meanwhile, described the thrill of meeting Madonna in that way—praising both the conversation and the emotional pull of seeing her back on the dance floor, where she first performed in London more than 40 years ago.

The album talk didn’t stop there. The interview also showed Madonna working on Confessions II in the studio, where she said, “It’s kind of like I get possessed. The ideas come when I don’t try too hard.” When asked about “One Step Away,” she said the song “came from the soul.”

Confessions II is out July 3, and the record also includes “Bring Your Love” with Sabrina Carpenter.

Off-camera, another piece of the story is adding to the intrigue. Alongside the interview, Madonna and Kylie were reportedly filming a light-hearted bar sketch for Madonna’s BBC special. The report says Kylie was invited by Madonna and that the cameo—filmed last month at Koko in Camden—was more of a skit than a full performance. Kylie is said to play a barmaid, while Madonna is portrayed as awkwardly dealing with the drink Kylie gives her. The report also claims Madonna and Kylie have discussed possibly getting into the studio together in the future.

In the middle of all the teasing and deflection, Madonna is already moving full steam ahead with promo for Confessions II—partying with Charli XCX, and even working the buzz machine with a teaser for “Hot Sauce,” which is part of a collab with ABSOLUT vodka.
