Madison Beer and Justin Herbert looked completely at ease as they spent Friday afternoon in Paris—moving through the City of Light together while stopping for shopping, as photographers captured the pair in candid moments.
The outing landed on May 22, when the couple was photographed strolling together during their time in France. Beer, 27, wore a fitted, midriff-baring top with a pale pink crewneck sweatshirt casually draped over her shoulders. She paired it with loose. low-rise baggy jeans. rectangular sunglasses. silver hoop earrings. and a small leather shoulder bag tucked under her arm.
Her boyfriend, 28-year-old Justin Herbert, kept his look simple and laid-back in a relaxed-fit white long-sleeve crewneck shirt with black pants, a baseball cap, and white low-top sneakers.
Their Paris date came as Beer has also been talking more directly about what it means to be in love while living under constant attention. During an appearance on Owen Thiele’s SiriusXM podcast In Your Dreams, Thiele asked, “Is it hard to be in love in the public eye?”
Beer answered that it can be “really hard,” and said the key is finding a way to “balance it and protect your relationship while also not hiding it.” She added, “I think there’s a balance you can find and just doing what you’re both comfortable with, it can be tricky for sure.”
She said the two initially tried to “protect” what they have, describing it as “just so sacred and special to us,” and explaining that when “you open the flood gates,” it can have “some damage.” At the same time, Beer said they’ve come to understand that attention is sometimes inevitable.
As the months passed, the couple adjusted. Beer said that at first they were more cautious about public attention, “but now that it’s been a while, we’re like, it’s not something that stresses us out anymore, thankfully.”
While her relationship continues to be a part of her public life, Beer is also stepping into the spotlight on her own terms. She kicked off her brand new Locket Tour last week in Poland. The tour features more than two dozen songs, including tracks from her latest album, Locket.
For now, Paris shopping days and tour schedules appear to be shaping the same message—one Beer seems to have found the balance for: being seen without losing what she and Herbert are trying to keep for themselves.
