The French president is on a three days official working visit to the country Toronto – French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa in his third official working visit since Abiy Ahmed took power in 2019.. The Prime Minister greeted him upon arrival at Bole International Airport… An official state reception was organized hours later at the Emperor Haile Selassie’s Jubilee Palace.. Egypt and Kenya as his country is on a mission to deepen relations in Eastern and Horn of Africa after losing political and diplomatic ground in West Africa following a series of revolutionary coup d’états.. Abiy Ahmed and Marcon held a bilateral meeting at the Jubilee palace following the state reception.. The French president is yet to remark on his latest visit to the country and the outcomes of the meeting.. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed
wrote on his personal Facebook page in three languages (Amharic, English and Oromo) regarding the outcome of the meeting.. “Held substantive bilateral discussions with Emmanuel Macron at the National Palace today, covering a broad range of issues of mutual interest.. We also presided over the exchange of key agreements between our two countries, including the €54.6 million loan agreement for the Renewable, Integrated, Sustainable Energy and Digitalization Program, as well as the exchange of the
new Framework and Roadmap for the 150MW Geothermal Public-Private Partnership engagement (PPP).” What Ethiopia is offering to France as part of this agreement is not disclosed to the public..
