Bournemouth confirm Marco Senesi exit as Man United and Liverpool target leaves for free

Bournemouth have confirmed Argentine defender Marco Senesi will leave at the end of the season, with major Premier League clubs linked.

Bournemouth’s season will end with a familiar face departing on free transfer terms, after the club confirmed Argentine defender Marco Senesi will leave at the end of his contract this summer.

Senesi, 29, has been a long-standing presence in the Cherries’ back line since joining in 2022 from Feyenoord. Over four seasons in south-coast football, he has made 126 appearances for Bournemouth, building a reputation as a dependable central defender.

The club announced his exit on Friday morning, paying tribute to his time at the Westgate. In a statement, Bournemouth said it will “celebrate Marcos’ contribution to the club following the final home game of the season against Manchester City.”

Senesi had been linked with a number of English clubs for some time. with Liverpool. Man United. Chelsea and Tottenham among those reported to have shown interest.. Bournemouth’s confirmation comes after the defender rejected multiple offers to extend his deal, making his departure increasingly expected.

There is also a personal dimension to the move. Senesi’s exit could take him away from his partner, Kelci-Rose Bowers, who plays for Bournemouth’s Women’s team. The couple, dubbed the club’s “power couple,” are reported to have started dating in 2025 and have shared posts on social media since then.

Bowers, a defender, began her youth career at Southampton before progressing into Bournemouth’s women’s setup. Outside of football, she is also described as a model, adding to the public profile of the relationship.

For Bournemouth, Senesi’s final appearance is set to come at the club’s home match against Manchester City, before the Argentine prepares for what could be a new chapter elsewhere this summer.
