Ludacris Makes Kids Hear Only Clean Song Versions

Ludacris clean – On the 2026 American Music Awards red carpet, Ludacris said his daughters only listen to clean versions of his songs at home, while he balances his career and family time in a way that keeps him close to his kids.

Ludacris was walking the 2026 American Music Awards red carpet when the conversation turned to family rules—and one detail sounded simple enough to be annoying, but real enough to be familiar.

His daughters love his classic hits, he said, but at home it’s clean versions only. “There’s all types of parental advisory,” the rapper, 48, told Us Weekly on Monday, May 25. “You gotta listen to the clean versions of even my songs, clean versions.”

Ludacris’ real name is Christopher Brian Bridges. and his catalog includes songs like “Move Bitch” and “Pimpin’ All Over the World”—tracks with plenty of moments that don’t exactly fit a household listening policy. Still, his kids are in the fandom, even if the album cuts don’t make it past the front door.

He’s a father of four daughters. His eldest daughter, Karma Christine, 25, was born during his relationship with ex Christine White. He also shares Cai Bella Bridges, 12, with ex Tamika Fuller, along with Cadence Gaëlle, 10, and Chance Oyali, 5, with his wife, Eudoxie Bridges.

For Ludacris, the rule isn’t just about censoring his own music—it’s about presence. He explained that when he performs somewhere, family comes first. “If I perform somewhere. it’s like if I’m there for two or three days. I’ve got to go home. ” he said. “So I make sure I have that 50/50 balance, really more like 80/20 balance. I’ve got to be with the family 80 percent and I work 20 percent. That’s why I worked so hard all this time to afford myself the time with my family.”.

It’s a balance he’s actively shaping as the girls look toward his world. His kids often show up in his TikTok videos. and Karma has already said she wants to follow him into music. When asked whether he’d support any of his daughters getting into music, Ludacris answered bluntly: “Absolutely. I want them to pursue whatever dreams that they have.”.

He even tied that support to a personal fan moment—one that came with a small joke about missing out. “They love, matter of fact, one of them loves KATSEYE, so she’s mad that she’s not here [at the AMAs] right now,” he said.

The day also had a full-on professional spotlight. Ludacris served as a presenter during Monday’s American Music Awards and joined GloRilla to give the Song of the Summer Award to BTS for “Swim.” Before the show, he reflected on a career that’s stretched close to three decades.

“The longevity does amaze me, but at the same time, I’m just so thankful because the fans truly dictate whether or not your music is going to stand the test of time or not, so it’s legacy. It’s legacy and it’s love,” he said.

He also spoke about how audiences still connect to specific eras of his music. When asked whether fans still reference his iconic 2001 track “Area Codes. ” Ludacris joked. “No. I’m married now. so no more area codes. But that was a great piece of history and a great piece of time. and when I perform it. people light up. because music should be like a time capsule and take you back to a certain time in life.”.

The 2026 American Music Awards aired on CBS from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
