The change feels small at first—until you notice the new tab waiting for you at the Home screen.
Once Hulu profiles are linked to Disney+, Hulu content shows up inside the experience you already use every day. Users with linked profiles will see their personalized watch history and recommendations—including Hulu titles—in the “For You” tab on the Home screen. Hulu doesn’t stop there: it also has its own dedicated Hub on Disney+. reached by selecting the Hulu tab on the top navigation bar.
For people who just want to browse, Disney+ is also adding an extra way to discover something new while streaming from a phone. The instructions are straightforward: select “Verts” on Disney+ from the bottom menu to scroll through a vertical video feed and discover something to watch.
What makes the update matter most is what happens after the link is made.
Linking a Hulu profile to Disney+ only needs to be done once. After that, Hulu watch history and Hulu recommendations are reflected directly in the Disney+ app. Titles watched on Hulu appear in the “Continue Watching” section of Disney+. while titles saved to “My Stuff” on Hulu appear in Disney+ under the “Watchlist” section.
So the shift isn’t just about recommendations being mixed—it’s about where the signals land inside Disney+. Your viewing momentum and saved picks move with you, rather than staying locked inside the Hulu app.
Disney+ is also preparing another feature aimed at real-time viewing.
Disney+ will soon begin testing a new Live Guide for subscribers. designed to make it easier to find content that’s live right now. The Live Guide testing will include Streams such as ABC News Live and Disney+ Playtime for all Disney+ users. ESPN networks will also be included for entitled ESPN Unlimited subscribers.
At the same time, Disney+ is keeping other Hulu options in place—at least for now. Additional Hulu features, including Live TV and add-ons, are still available in the Hulu app and will be coming to Disney+ at a later date.
