Lauren Boebert Calls Colleague’s Absence “Embarrassing”

Rep. Lauren Boebert attacked the long absence of her GOP colleague in a TMZ interview, questioning where he has been since March and whether his visibility matches what voters expect from the party. The congressman, whose primary win came Tuesday, has said he
Lauren Boebert didn’t ask for a meeting—she asked a question that landed like a rebuke.
In a TMZ interview, the Colorado congresswoman called her Republican colleague’s mystery-shrouded absence “embarrassing,” saying the party is “supposed to be the party that is against campaigning from the basement.” She pressed on directly: “Where is he?”
Boebert said she didn’t know where the congressman was. adding that she “haven’t heard from him” and that she’d heard people “cover for him.” Her criticism was sharpened by what she framed as a mismatch between campaigning and duty. “Sure, we need a majority but under these circumstances?. Maybe I’m working too hard,” she said, describing her own focus on reelection and serving voters. “Because I work my ass off to get reelected and to serve the people of my district. … This guy hasn’t been here since March and he’s won an election?”.
The timing is what made Boebert’s anger stand out: the comments came after the congressman won his primary unopposed on Tuesday.
Before the win, President Donald Trump had weighed in, writing that Kean was “working tirelessly” and “WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN.” Boebert’s challenge, in contrast, centered on what she says she hasn’t seen—raising the central tension of her interview: claims of work versus visible presence.
The congressman has said he is on the mend from a health issue and that he will disclose more later. He also pointed to the importance of “transparency.” In Boebert’s telling. transparency becomes its own test—especially when her questions are rooted in a gap that. in her words. stretches back to March.
Boebert later moved into a familiar rights-and-representation argument, veering into a not-quite-right “taxation without representation” claim and harkening back to proxy votes in the House during the COVID-19 pandemic.
When the reporter asked a more personal, straightforward question—“If you could talk to him right now, what would you say to him?”—Boebert responded with a brief introduction instead. “Hi. It’s great to meet you,” she replied. “I’m Lauren Boebert.”
That exchange didn’t answer where he has been. It turned her critique into something sharper: an insinuation that, for her at least, the distance has been long enough to feel like a stranger’s name being spoken for the first time.

Wait so he’s just missing since March? Sounds like typical politics, only showing up when it benefits them.
TMZ really? Like why is this even entertainment. If he’s sick, maybe don’t shame him on TV. But also… where is he? I’m confused.
She says “basement campaigning” like that’s the only way people work. Also “taxation without representation”??? Isn’t that a totally different thing lol. If he won unopposed, of course she’s gonna pick the one thing she can swing at.
Trump said he was “working tirelessly” so I guess that answers it? Unless Trump just means vibes. Transparency my butt, half these folks disappear and come back like nothing happened. If it’s health stuff then okay, but if not then yeah that’s embarrassing.
