Latto pregnancy – Ahead of her new album “Big Mama,” Grammy-nominated rapper Latto shared a three-minute Instagram video detailing her pregnancy journey, from doctor visits and a star-studded baby shower to the studio and photoshoots. The album drops May 29.
Latto’s glow wasn’t just the kind fans see on stage — it was captured, minute by minute, as she walked through the reality of pregnancy while preparing to release her new album.
On Monday. May 18. the Grammy-nominated artist. born Alyssa Michelle Stephens. posted a three-minute video of her pregnancy journey on Instagram ahead of the arrival of “Big Mama.” In the footage. she announced her milestone with loved ones. shared moments from doctor visits. and celebrated at a star-studded baby shower. The video showed celebrities including Angel Reese, Sexyy Red, Usher, and 21 Savage in attendance, per the video.
The clip also mixed the personal with the professional. It showed Latto in the studio and on set during photoshoots for her latest project, placing the pregnancy alongside the work it could have interrupted — or complicated.
“I was already thinking about naming my album ‘Big Mama,’ and then I found out about you and everything fell into place,” Latto said in the video.
She also described the worry that came with the change. “It’s so crazy because I thought this was going to hinder me,” she continued. “I was worried about making this album sober and being tired and just exhausted as my body went through all these changes.”
As the pregnancy neared its final stretch, the tone turned unmistakably emotional. Near the end of the video, Latto shared her reaction to the last stages of pregnancy. “Thirty-seven weeks today, basically full term, and it’s any day now. I’m so ready to meet my baby,” she said tearfully.
She added that her life — at least immediately after delivery — would look different. “I’m never going to leave when my baby gets here. I need a million dollars a show because I don’t want to leave the house,” she said.
In late March, Latto announced her fourth studio album, “Big Mama,” and revealed her baby bump to the world. She posted a photo showing herself with a pregnant belly and carrying a baby cheetah. She also shared a clip of the music video “Business & Personal. ” including the verse in which she announced she has a “kid on the way.”.
“Big Mama” is set to be released on May 29.
Earlier this month, in a post on X, she said it would be her retirement album, a message that left fans in a frenzy. “Thank you for everything,” she wrote.
