Kira Chathli named England A captain for India A

London, June 11 (IANS) Surrey wicketkeeper‑batter Kira Chathli has been named captain of England A for the upcoming women’s series against India A, which will feature three T20s and three 50‑over matches to be played in late June and early July. Kira, who recently earned her first call‑up to the senior England squad, will lead a side that includes three players capped at full international level – Jodi Grewcock, Ryana MacDonald‑Gay, and Charis Pavely.   1. So is England A like the main team or is this another “practice” thing? I swear these names confuse me. Either way, congrats to Kira Chathli, sounds like she’s moving up for sure.

  2. England A vs India A… I thought India A was men’s cricket? Like where are the actual full teams? Also 3 T20s and 3 50 over is a lot, she might be tired by the last one. Not saying she can’t do it, just seems like a lot to captain.

  3. Jon JJ Lewis as coach… is that the same Jon from the men’s side? Idk, the coaching names always get weird on these articles. But I guess if she’s “on the right path” then she’ll be in the senior squad soon, right? I just hope India A doesn’t steamroll them in those first T20s.
