Kelsey Grammer praises Trump as ‘one of the greatest presidents’
Kelsey Grammer, best known for his role as Frasier Crane, praised Trump in a candid interview, calling him ‘maybe the greatest’ president ever.
Kelsey Grammer wants to see changes in the American education system.
During an upcoming appearance on conservative podcaster Katie Miller’s show, the actor said the “educational community has really dropped the ball” and is doing so “deliberately,” because “they don’t like the idea that we are a great country.”
In the interview, previewed by TMZ, the “Frasier” star said he cofounded his education nonprofit American Revelation Foundation because he believes “something in our education system decided to … teach our children” that the United States is a “crap country.”
“And, of course, if you were learning that from your teachers, we believe our teachers,” Grammer, 71, continued. “And if they say things like, ‘You come from a crap country,’ well, you start to think, ‘Well, maybe they’re right. I wonder why I come from a crap place.'”
He added, “So you end up searching your soul for why you’re not a good person. Why you aren’t good anymore. Why our country isn’t good. So that means mom and dad aren’t very good either, are they? And there’s a whole series of questions that come into it.”
Grammer said it is “basically child abuse what we do with our children” and that he “wanted to change that” with his nonprofit.
The American Revelation Foundation, founded to coincide with the U.S.’s 250th anniversary, is a conservative organization created for people to “explore and celebrate the nation’s history, founding principles, and enduring values,” according to its website.
The “Cheers” actor, admitting to sounding “paranoid,” suggested that there is a “plot” within the education system to teach children negative views about the U.S.
“It’s not a theory. It’s a conspiracy,” he said. In the clip, Grammer didn’t appear to cite evidence for the claim. “Someone conspired to introduce the idea that we aren’t a good country through our educational system.”
Grammer, a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump, has become increasingly vocal with his political remarks over the years. In a June Us Weekly interview, the “Cheers” star admitted that he has “wrestled” with the idea of running for political office.
“I would consider it. It would possibly tick that box for me, in terms of the service I feel I should have given to my fellow man – to my fellow countrymen – that I missed in the military,” Grammer said. “Maybe [running for office] would be the way to do it.”
