Kelli Berglund Recast as Cheyenne in Hulu Prison Break

Kelli Berglund has joined Hulu’s upcoming Prison Break reboot as Cheyenne, taking over a female inmate role that was originally played in the pilot by Priscilla Delgado.

When Hulu moved to turn its Prison Break reboot into a full series, one casting change landed fast. Kelli Berglund, known for Now Apocalypse, Heels, and Disney’s Lab Rats, has officially joined the cast as Cheyenne, a female inmate.

Priscilla Delgado originally played Cheyenne in the pilot, but Kelli will now take over the part as part of a recast.

The reboot’s cast is building out with Emily Browning, Drake Rodger, Lukas Gage, Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, Georgie Flores, and Myles Bullock. The pilot will also feature guest stars including Margo Martindale, Ray McKinnon, Donal Logue, Lili Taylor, and Sylvester Powell.

Prison Break was ordered to series by Hulu last October, and the new installment will unfold in the same universe as the original Fox drama. Even with that connection, the reboot is not expected to feature characters from the original show.

The story arrives with a clear pitch. “In the new Prison Break, a soldier-turned-corrections officer takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America to prove just how far she’ll go for someone she loves.”

  1. Seems like Hulu just can’t leave anything alone. If it’s the same universe then why won’t they use any of the old characters?? Kinda defeats the whole “reboot” thing to me.

  2. I thought Prison Break was gonna be like the original actors coming back or something. Also soldier-turned-corrections officer sounds kinda similar to every other show where they throw someone in prison and call it suspense lol. Priscilla Delgado getting replaced like that feels weird.

  3. Emily Browning + Lukas Gage in the mix is cool I guess. But recasting Cheyenne from the pilot makes me wonder if the showrunner already changed their mind on the whole vibe. Deadliest prisons in America?? So like… they just wrote that and everyone goes with it. I’ll probably watch one episode just to see if it feels like the Fox one or if it’s totally different.
