KATSEYE turned the MGM Grand Garden Arena into a pop spectacle on Monday, May 25, when the group won New Artist of the Year and stepped into the spotlight to perform “Pinky Up” at the 2026 American Music Awards.
Held in Las Vegas. the show delivered a night that looked built for momentum: after accepting the award. KATSEYE also performed their hit “Pinky Up” on stage in front of a giant bear. The performance came with a visible lineup change. as Daniela. Megan. Yoonchae. Sophia. and Lara Raj appeared as a five-member group while Manon‘s hiatus from KATSEYE kept her off the stage.
Their win placed them ahead of Alex Warren. Ella Langley. Leon Thomas. Olivia Dean. and Sombr for the coveted New Artist of the Year prize. The group’s celebration joined a recent streak of big-name first-time winners at the AMAs. including Doja Cat in 2020. Olivia Rodrigo in 2021. Dove Cameron in 2022. and Gracie Abrams in 2025.
The rest of the night continued to move forward with CBS carrying the AMAs live, hosted by Queen Latifah. This year marked her return as host after more than 30 years since she previously hosted. With the nominations list led by Taylor Swift with 8 nods. the show also featured a full lineup of performers and celebrity presenters throughout the evening.
