Katie McCabe signs for Chelsea after Arsenal exit

Chelsea are set to sign Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe when her Arsenal contract expires on July 1. The 30-year-old has signed a contract with the Blues until 30 June 2029, with the option of an additional year. McCabe made 305 appearances during an 11-year spell with Arsenal, helping them win the Women’s Super League in 2019. McCabe, whose family support Chelsea, said: “It’s a new chapter in my career.   2. Wait I thought Katie McCabe already played for Chelsea like years ago? Maybe I’m mixing her up with someone else. Also the contract is until 2029?? That seems crazy long for soccer, but I guess women’s league is finally getting real money.

  3. Staying in London makes sense if her family’s supportive, but I saw somewhere she had NWSL offers too?? Like why would you turn that down unless you’re already guaranteed starts. Chelsea badge pressure is wild too, she’ll be getting roasted if she doesn’t perform immediately.
