When Kate Mansi walked off the “General Hospital” set after her last day of filming, she already had the next chapter in mind. She wrapped production in April, and her final episode is expected to air in June, ending a three-year run as Kristina Corinthos Davis on the longtime ABC soap.
Mansi, 38, announced she was stepping away after making what she called a “very difficult decision.” A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed the departure on May 24. Soap Opera Network was the first outlet to report the news.
In a statement to the outlet. Mansi explained that she has “a few new projects that require my full attention.” She also pointed to timing and travel: with her husband. Matt McInnis. currently producing a series filming primarily abroad. she said she needed the flexibility to travel while continuing to develop and work in Los Angeles.
She also used the moment to express gratitude. In her remarks. Mansi thanked executive producer Frank Valentini. ABC. and the “General Hospital” writers for “the care they gave” her character over the years. “It’s been such a meaningful and unforgettable ride,” she added. “I’ve loved being a fiery Corinthos-Davis girl in such a phenomenal family.”.
Mansi marked the farewell again on Instagram on May 25. posing on the set in front of a sign featuring the soap’s name. Her caption—“Adventure was had. Adventures ahead”—came alongside a photo showing flowers, cards, wine, and gifts she received during her final day of filming. She also teased more updates with the line: “Tell you more June 12.”.
Mansi joined “General Hospital” in 2023 as Kristina, the daughter of mobster Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his former attorney, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Kristina had previously been played by multiple actresses, including Kali Rodriguez, Lexi Ainsworth and Lindsey Morgan.
Across her three-year tenure, she appeared in more than 200 episodes. Many of those storylines followed Kristina’s return to Port Charles after her father’s shooting and her secret LGBTQ romance with her married college professor Parker Forsyth.
The actor also directed two episodes during her time on the show. One of them focused on an endometriosis diagnosis—something Mansi said related to her own battle with the health condition in 2015. Her work also drew professional recognition: she earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2025 for outstanding supporting actress in a drama.
Valentini, for his part, praised Mansi’s performance in a statement to Soap Opera Network. “We love Kate and support her decision to leave,” he said. “The door is always open, and we appreciate all that she added to the show these past three years.”

Before “General Hospital. ” Mansi starred as Abigail Deveraux on “Days of Our Lives.” She was a series regular from 2011 to 2016 and won a supporting actress Daytime Emmy in 2017.
