Kaden Henderson commits: Texas A&M boosts 2027 haul
Texas A&M added another marquee name to its 2027 recruiting class when Jesuit (FL) five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson committed on Thursday, June 18. He chose the Aggies over LSU and Notre Dame, bringing a major boost to a class already starting to look like
The commitment came with a specific date and a heavyweight choice: on Thursday, June 18, Jesuit (FL) five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson picked Texas A&M over LSU and Notre Dame.
For Texas A&M, it wasn’t just another pledge—it was another statement. Henderson is a 6-foot-1.5. 218-pounder from Tampa. and he enters the 2027 cycle with rankings that immediately place him in the national conversation. 247Sports has him as the No. 58 player and No. 3 linebacker in the 2027 class, while the USA TODAY Sports football composite ranking lists him as the No. 22 player in the class. The rankings don’t fully match: 247Sports has Henderson as a four-star prospect.
What makes the decision even louder is the production behind it. As a junior, Henderson missed five games due to injury, but still finished with 49 tackles, 20 quarterback pressures, 13 tackles for loss, nine sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.
He also built his résumé on big stages. Henderson participated in both the Under Armour All-America Game and the Polynesian Bowl. Across the two events, he totaled six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and half a sack.
With Henderson in the fold. Texas A&M’s 2027 class quickly starts to resemble the kind of group that’s hard for other programs to match. The Aggies are no stranger to landing elite talent year after year. and now Mike Elko’s latest recruiting class—already ranked as the best in the nation so far—got even stronger with this addition.
Henderson’s pledge also pushes the Aggies’ commitment count to six five-star recruits so far. and the structure of that haul matters. Four of those six are on the defensive side of the ball. Texas A&M’s highest-rated 2027 pledge entering this cycle is five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews, coming in at No. 5 for the cycle. The Aggies also have a pair of five-star safety commitments in Kamarui Dorsey and JayQuan Snell, paired alongside Raylaun Henry.
Elko and his staff have also kept an eye on homegrown recruiting. Of Texas A&M’s 23 commitments overall, eight come from the Lone Star State.
The timing of Henderson’s commitment leaves the door open for more. Texas A&M remains in contention for additional prospects who are uncommitted at this point, and the 2027 class—still with a ways to go—may come within striking distance of what the Aggies achieved with their 2022 class.

TAMU always be stacking linebackers lol
I saw LSU in the headline and thought he chose LSU but nope? Either way 2027 rankings are all over the place. 247 says 4-star but USA Today has him way higher right?
So he got hurt and missed like 5 games and still has 9 sacks… that’s wild. But also like why are the rankings different, is one site just making stuff up? Feels like Texas A&M just throws money at everything and boom 5-star linebackers
Not gonna lie, I don’t even know what “2027 haul” means, like are they selling stuff? But congrats to him I guess. Also he’s from Tampa?? I thought TAMU would pull more from Texas only, but they said 8 of 23 are from the Lone Star State so idk
