Josh Jacobs booked after domestic abuse allegations

Jacobs reportedly turned himself in to the police and was booked into Brown County Jail. The arrest follows a reported incident on Saturday night and police say the investigation is ongoing. Lawyers for Jacobs released a statement after his arrest. “Josh vehemently denies the allegations and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evident that has not yet been made public. We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course,” read a statement from attorneys David Z.
Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac. The Packers declined to comment on the matter, with one spokesperson only saying, “We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs. As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment.” Packers star Jacobs, 27, is far and away the top running back for Green Bay, where he has spent the last two seasons after playing for the Raiders for five years. Last season, the three-time Pro Bowl selection ran for 929 yards and 13
touchdowns (14 TDs in total) in 15 games, totaling 1,211 yards. The arrest is bad news for the team, which Vegas oddsmakers have tapped as a plausible Super Bowl contender. The Packers will look to Jacobs next season as they face off with vastly improved NFC North divisional rivals such as the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

Dang. Hope they sort it out.
This feels like one of those cases where everyone pretends to “wait for the facts” but the headline already ruined him. Also the Packers not commenting says a lot I guess. I don’t even know what to think anymore.
He turned himself in? That sounds more like paperwork stuff than like some giant attack… but domestic abuse allegations are obviously serious. I’m just confused why the team won’t say anything besides “we’re aware.” Like aren’t they supposed to protect people or something? Either way, I hate it for football though, like how can he even play next season if it’s still ongoing.
Wait so he’s in Brown County Jail, but isn’t Green Bay like… Wisconsin, and Brown County is there right? So is this gonna affect his contract or is it only “early stages” like lawyers keep saying. The statement reads weird, like they’re saying there’s no evidence yet but also “important” evidence exists? I don’t follow, and honestly I just don’t want this to be swept under the rug for him being a Pro Bowl guy.
