Comedy Central’s “Best F**king News Team” is back at full speed tonight—after an extended Memorial Day break last week—with the familiar anchor desk turning hands as a new week of “The Daily Show” episodes kicks off.
Jon Stewart sits down first on Monday night. The show’s regular Monday-night host is joined by Jason Bateman. who’s promoting two high-profile streaming projects: HBO’s DTF St. Louis and Netflix’s Black Rabbit. Bateman’s appearance will also be a homecoming of sorts. It marks his first visit to “The Daily Show” since March 2014, during Stewart’s first run as host.
Then, the desk moves to senior correspondent Michael Kosta for Tuesday through Thursday. Kosta is set to host for the fourth week so far this year. His previous run at the desk ended with the week of April 20.
On Tuesday, Kosta welcomes Dr. Thomas Mather. a University of Rhode Island public health entomology professor. researcher. and “The TickGuy.” The timing lands as tick season gets underway. On Wednesday, he’ll sit down with Chase Infiniti, who’s promoting Hulu’s The Testaments. Thursday brings another guest focused on causes outside the usual entertainment lane: Kosta welcomes best-selling author and animal advocate Beth Stern. promoting her new children’s book Coco and Stephen. Together Forever.
The week is part of a bigger schedule. “The Daily Show” is set to produce four weeks of new episodes this month before taking another one-week break the week of June 29.
For viewers, the rhythm is consistent: the show airs weeknights at 11 p.m, ET/PT on Comedy Central, and it’s available to stream the next day on Paramount+.
