Jimmy Kimmel skewers Trump over $12,000 UFC coin

On June 10’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the 58-year-old comedian mocked Donald Trump’s partnership-backed $12,000 UFC commemorative coin—calling it a “special kind of con man” after reading fine print that says it’s for enjoyment only and not investment

The gold coin hit the screen like a punchline with a price tag—$12,000 for a souvenir tied to a UFC fight on the White House lawn—and Jimmy Kimmel didn’t waste time turning it into a roast.

On the June 10 edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!. ” Kimmel. 58. zeroed in on the coin being sold as a commemorative mark of the controversial UFC bout that Donald Trump is putting on as part of America’s 250th birthday celebration. The comedian framed it as the Trump family doing what it does best: selling something flashy that’s. by its own rules. not really meant for anyone’s wallet in the way buyers might assume.

Kimmel pointed to the gold coin being marketed in partnership with the Trump Organization, which is run by Trump’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. Then he read the price like it was a joke with a markup you couldn’t unsee.

“It just so happens that the Trump family is offering a special commemorative coin with his head on it for this UFC event for the low, low price of only $11,999,” Kimmel began.

On screen, he showed the coin’s image and let the details land. “You can see though it’s a beautiful coin. ‘Julius UF Caesar’ is pictured. This is 1 ounce of pure PF70-rated gold.”

But the punch didn’t stop at the description. Kimmel compared it to a version without Donald Trump’s head, saying that same coin without his likeness sells for $4,500. In Kimmel’s telling, that meant the Trump Organization was using Trump’s image to add $7,500 to the cost.

“So this is a deal,” he quipped.

The most uncomfortable part for Kimmel wasn’t just the price—it was the fine print he said the sellers would rather people skip. He turned to the coin’s sale page and read the disclaimer aloud.

“If you read the fine print. which they would prefer you do not do. you will learn that the coin is ‘intended for individual enjoyment only and not for investment purposes. ’” Kimmel said. continuing: “‘This is not political. has nothing to do with any political campaign. It is not legal tender and has no face value.’”.

From there, Kimmel went straight for the characterization. “You really have to hand it to Trump,” he said. “I mean, it takes a special kind of con man to sell your supporters money they cannot spend anyplace.”

Kimmel also pointed to a broader tension that’s followed Trump throughout his presidency: Donald is not supposed to personally profit off the office of the presidency. while the lines between Donald and his business interests have blurred—especially when his sons are often seen with him during crucial state visits.

He brought the focus back to how embedded Trump-branded products have been in official life. noting that Trump has hawked a range of goods while in office. Kimmel referenced items including a “Trump Phone,” a “Trump Bible,” and other Trump-themed coins. He also mentioned Trump personally advertising a “Trump watch.”.

During his Wednesday show, Kimmel also took a shot at the “Trump Bible,” saying anyone claiming a “conflict of interest” should buy the product.

“Repent, for only $59.99,” he joked.

The sequence of Kimmel’s remarks built a clear through-line: an expensive commemorative item marketed around a politically charged UFC event. a steep price difference tied to Trump’s face. and fine print that undercuts any expectation that the coin is meant to be money-like in practice—only “individual enjoyment.”.
