House Democrat Warns Trump’s Sleeping Fuels Security Doubts

Trump’s sleeping – Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, speaking on Capitol Hill, accused President Donald Trump’s reported sleeping habits of becoming a national security issue and criticized the White House for what she called a lack of transparency, pointing to an exchange with Secreta
On a Wednesday on Capitol Hill, Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove stood before the House floor and showed an image of President Donald Trump appearing to sleep during a meeting. Her message was direct, and her tone was not.
“Mr. Speaker, I rise today to sound the alarm about a grave national security threat, Donald Trump’s sleeping habits,” Kamlager-Dove said. She added that decorum rules meant she would “stick to the facts,” framing the issue as “a serious matter of oversight, transparency, and national security.”
Kamlager-Dove’s central claim was that Americans cannot trust the White House’s official statements about the president’s health. She said that in “meeting after meeting,” Trump has “fallen asleep in public, on camera, in broad daylight,” including “when people lavish praise on him.”
She then targeted the White House’s response by pointing directly to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Kamlager-Dove said Rubio had been “seemingly lying” to Congress last week about never having witnessed Trump sleeping on duty. “despite being shown a video where the president dozed off right next to him.”.
Her warning echoed an earlier line she associated with Rubio during a June 3 House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing. At that hearing. Rubio alleged that Trump “doesn’t sleep. which is a big problem.” Kamlager-Dove then asked what would be at stake if the allegation of wakefulness did not match what others have seen. She pressed: “We cannot have a president asleep on the job. Is he sleeping in classified briefings, on calls with foreign leaders?. How can we trust a president who is literally asleep at the wheel to make informed decisions about national security?”.
Kamlager-Dove also brought in public opinion. citing an April YouGov poll that found that 48% of Americans believe Trump is “also suffering modest to significant cognitive decline.” She described the concern not as an abstract political attack but as a pattern she said shows up in day-to-day decisions.
She pointed to “erratic decisions. ” including what she called Trump’s “bizarre social media habits” and his controversial war in Iran. She said. “He is posting AI on Truth Social at ungodly hours of the night.” Kamlager-Dove argued that Trump has been “hyper-fixated on his billion-dollar ballroom and a $1.8 billion slush fund for political allies instead of ending his war of choice on Iran and lowering costs for Americans.”.
Underneath her list of grievances was one refrain: that the White House has not been forthcoming. “Sadly, the White House has repeatedly failed to be transparent with the American people about the president’s health,” she said.
Trump, for his part, has repeatedly denied suffering from sleeping problems. He also responded to footage of him appearing to nod off in public meetings by saying he was “simply resting his eyes or blinking.” More broadly. the president has dismissed claims of cognitive or physical health issues. maintaining that his health and stamina for office are in good condition.

So he just… naps during meetings? That seems insane.
I don’t even know what to think because half these clips are edited. Like, if he was “sleeping” maybe it was just blinking or resting his eyes. Also why are they focused on that and not like actual policy? Seems like headline drama.
Wait Rubio “lied” because he said he never saw it… but then they show a video next to him? If that’s real then yeah, that’s a problem. But at the same time, congress does oversights like every day, they’re always accusing people of something. Also the title says sleeping fuels security doubts like it’s automatically a CIA thing lol.
This is so embarrassing. Like, if the president can’t even stay awake in public meetings how are we supposed to believe anything about “his health” or whatever they’re saying. And they keep talking about transparency, but it feels like it’s just another gotcha between Democrats and Republicans. Also I saw somewhere that he was faking it, so idk, maybe everyone’s just spinning it for votes. Still, if there’s a classified briefing involved, that’s scary.
