Jeff Probst announced on Instagram that “Survivor” is headed to theaters as an animated Paramount Animation movie—an all-out animal comedy with Probst returning as an executive producer. The project lands after “Survivor” Season 50 wrapped in May with a $2 mil
Jeff Probst didn’t waste time turning his “Survivor” instincts toward a new kind of arena.
On Wednesday. the longtime host took to Instagram to share that “Survivor” is coming to the big screen as a brand new animated movie from Paramount Animation. He promised it would be “like you’ve never seen it before…in the animal kingdom. ” with animals competing for the title of the sole “Survivor.”.
“I’m so excited to be teaming up with Paramount Animation to bring you ‘Survivor’ like you’ve never seen it before…in the animal kingdom!” Probst wrote in the post. “This will be an all-out comedy with animals competing for the chance to be crowned the sole ‘Survivor.’”
The announcement arrived alongside a brand description from Paramount for the unnamed animated feature. The longline says the story is “Set on a remote and mystical island,” where animals “from all around the globe compete for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be crowned the sole Survivor.”
Probst, speaking further in his Instagram video, framed the shift in tone as a natural evolution rather than a reinvention. “It’s still everything we love about ‘Survivor’: big personalities. funny characters. surprising alliances. competition. chaos and. of course. a lot of heart. ” he said. He also added that the animated animal world opens up a new playground: “It’s always been about watching different personalities learning how to live together while competing against each other. ” and “setting it in the world of animals gives us a whole new playground to play with.”.

Probst’s update lands right after “Survivor” Season 50 wrapped up in May, closing out the milestone run with a $2 million grand prize. The five-time Emmy winner and longtime host will serve as an executive producer on the animated film.
Paramount Animation is led by Jennifer Dodge. The studio division is also gearing up for other releases, including “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie” in theaters on Aug. 14, and a newly announced Christmas animated feature from Robert Rodriguez titled “The Naughty List.”
In his Instagram video, Probst summed up the excitement with a promise of something new for fans. “I am so excited. This is the perfect fit,” he said. “Very, very, very excited. I can’t wait for you to meet this new tribe.”
The picture that emerges is simple: “Survivor” is moving from sand and storm to a remote, mystical island of animated animals—keeping the stakes, the rivalries, and the alliances, but turning the dial on comedy.
