JD Vance Torn Into by Trump Supporters Over Megyn Kelly Interview

JD Vance’s planned appearance on Megyn Kelly’s show has ignited a sharp backlash from Trump loyalists on X, with critics calling it “bizarre” and warning it sends the wrong signal—while others insist Trump is in control of the plan. The interview airs Tuesday

JD Vance didn’t even sit down with Megyn Kelly yet—and still, President Donald Trump’s most loyal followers were already furious.

On Monday, as talk of the vice president’s upcoming appearance on “The Megyn Kelly Show” circulated, several MAGA supporters took to X to question why Vance would agree to appear on a program associated with the media commentator’s sharp criticism of Trump.

The pushback followed Kelly’s confirmation that Vance would stop by her show on Tuesday to promote his new book, “Communion.” That set off immediate blowback from Laura Loomer, a prominent figure in the MAGA movement, who called the choice “bizarre.”

Loomer wrote that she couldn’t understand “Why would our Vice President go on Megyn Kelly’s show?” and argued that Kelly “is constantly bashing President Trump.” She added that Kelly had recently said MAGA is dead and that Trump is “losing his mind.” Loomer also claimed Kelly has been condemned by Trump and accused him of being “owned” by Israel.

In Loomer’s post. she listed more grievances. saying Kelly defended Candace Owens’s “vicious attacks on [Erika Kirk]” and had “entertained the lie that the Trump administration killed Charlie Kirk.” Loomer also alleged Kelly insinuated Trump is covering up for Jeffrey Epstein. concluding that the whole thing is “Not a good look.”.

Even as she attacked the interview idea. Loomer suggested Vance might still handle it on his end—writing that she was hopeful he would tell Kelly “to pound sand.” She added that she believes the conservative commentator is “truly out to destroy President Trump.” Loomer called the interview “terrible optics” and said she “couldn’t believe this [was] real.”.

“Wow. Whoever told our VP this was a good idea is leading him astray,” Loomer wrote, ending her post with a direct challenge: “I say this in the most respectful and sincere way. Who thought this was a good idea?”

Loomer wasn’t the only one firing off a furious reaction. Right-wing activist Chris Loesch posted a similarly pointed critique on X. arguing that it “is signaling” for Vance to go on the show of someone who. in his view. has “lambasted this administration.” Loesch also wrote that Kelly had “befriended and defended the people dogging on Trump and this administration worse than progressives. ” and added that “The President needs people watching his back.”.

Another critic speculated the decision could be tied to future ambition. writing that Kelly had been “ripping the Trump administration for months” while JD Vance had been “silent. ” and then “rewards her by going on her show.” The commenter went further. suggesting that if Vance is “betting on the Woke Reich’s vote in 2028. ” he “isn’t going to get it. ” and that “real Republicans are not going to allow it.”.

A fourth voice cut in with even harsher language, slamming Vance as “Brutus” and urging the president to speak out against his “No. 2.”

Not everyone joined the pile-on. One fan pushed back against Loomer’s framing. writing on X: “There’s always a plan though you may not know what it is. Laura.” The supporter added that Trump “knows exactly what he’s doing. ” and asked how many more times Trump would need to act before people realize “there’s always a plan.”.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Kelly’s interview with Vance is set to air on “The Megyn Kelly Show” at 12 p.m. ET on SiriusXM Channel 111, and on her YouTube account later in the day.
