Jason Kelce named best man for Swift wedding

Travis Kelce’s wedding in New York has pulled a tight, homegrown circle around him, with older brother Jason Kelce named best man and Jason’s daughters set to serve as flower girls. From Patrick Mahomes’ close involvement to childhood friends and celebrity gue

Madison Square Garden looks different on wedding day—less stadium noise, more hush. In the middle of Manhattan, with around 1,000 guests set to watch as Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift tie the knot, the Kansas City Chiefs star’s inner circle is taking center stage too.

Older brother Jason Kelce is named Travis’ best man, a role that’s landed with near certainty given how closely the two have stuck together throughout their lives. The bond has only deepened through their parallel football paths, including Jason joining Travis on the New Heights podcast.

Jason’s family will also be visible in the ceremony itself. TMZ reported on Friday night that Jason’s daughters will be flower girls. throwing petals over Swift as she walks down the aisle to one of her own songs being played on strings. Jason has four daughters, including a baby born last year and an oldest daughter who is seven.

Travis Kelce’s connection to Jason runs deeper than tradition. Kelce wears the No. 87 at the Kansas City Chiefs because it’s the year Jason, 38, was born. And while the world is focused on the marquee romance. the framework of the day is built around the people who have shared everything from practice fields to private milestones.

Patrick Mahomes is also closely involved in the wedding plans. Kelce and Mahomes have won three Super Bowls together with the Chiefs. and the two are known around the NFL for what many describe as a telepathic understanding on the field. Now that same friendship extends beyond the stadium, with Mahomes involved in Kelce’s biggest day.

Before the ceremony began, Kelce’s circle was already in motion. His personal chef. Kumar Ferguson. shared a picture of himself looking suave in a tuxedo at his New York hotel just a couple of hours before the proceedings. Ferguson. alongside long-term friends who help manage Kelce’s brand—Andre and Aaron Eanes—were also at the luxury rehearsal dinner at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. the day before the main event.

Kelce’s friendships don’t end at Kansas City, either. He is believed to be bringing in many childhood friends from his Cleveland upbringing. That group includes Ross Travis. a former NFL player who like Kelce played for the Chiefs as a tight end—though at a different level of success. The same old ties show up on game days at Arrowhead Stadium. where Kelce’s VIP suite crew is very often joined by Swift.

The Eanes brothers, Andre and Aaron, regularly appear in that world too. They manage Kelce and helped build his brand into a megastar long before he started dating someone with Swift’s level of global fame.

There are also signs the wedding spotlight isn’t landing evenly across every layer of Kelce’s wider friendship group. Daily Mail reported on Thursday night that there were “rumbles of discontent” over roles in the wedding. though it did not spell out the disagreements. Some guests have also appeared confused about how the big day will run.

A separate concern has hovered around the one person whose presence carries the most risk for a private event: Kelce’s father. Ed. Daily Mail reported that Swift was concerned her future father-in-law might leak information about the top-secret wedding as preparations stayed so hush that even some guests were caught off guard by the plan.

One insider’s warning to Daily Mail came in May: “He’s sort of like a loose cannon. Nobody knows what he’s going to say, so it’s kind of a controversial situation.”

But Ed’s relationship with Swift is not in doubt. Ed has always praised Swift, making no secret of his pride at her and his son falling in love. In February 2024. Ed told the LA Times. “Every (Chiefs) game there’s people crowding outside the front of that suite trying to get a glimpse of Taylor. wanting to meet Taylor. Taylor’s very gracious, but she can’t do everything. But if it was up to her she’d be out there with everyone who wants her.”.

Kelce’s parents, Donna and Ed, broke up after Travis and Jason were old enough to leave home, yet they have maintained a good relationship and often spend time together cheering their sons on during NFL games.

Still, the day belongs to football rivalries turned off. Beyond Kelce’s select circle, the guest list includes a sweep of high-profile names from around the league. San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle is among them, as is New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and his wife, Jen.

Vrabel’s presence comes with extra background: Daily Mail noted his recent scandal involving an alleged affair with former Athletic reporter, Dianna Russini.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is also attending with his wife, Kelly. Stafford was the NFL MVP last season. and with the Rams entering the 2026 season as favorites to win the Super Bowl. his attendance carries a sense of incoming stakes—especially with expectations that this could be Kelce’s last NFL campaign before retiring.

For all the different corners of the sports world showing up at Madison Square Garden. the center of the story stays personal. After the Chiefs reached the Super Bowl back in 2024, Travis and Jason were pictured celebrating with Swift watching on. Now. as Swift steps into the aisle to one of her own songs being played on strings. the same tightest circle—brothers. childhood friends. long-term collaborators—has been built into the moment the whole world will remember.

  1. I saw something about his daughters being flower girls, which is kinda cute. But like… isn’t Taylor the one with the music? How are they doing “her own songs on strings” without it being too much

  2. Jason Kelce wearing 87 because it’s the year he was born?? That sounds like a made up fact, I swear people just connect dots after the fact. Also Patrick Mahomes being involved is just like PR stuff, right?

  3. Madison Square Garden is huge and then it says it’s like hush wedding day? That doesn’t even make sense, MSG is never quiet. If there’s 1,000 guests, you’re still gonna hear noise. Also Travis choosing Jason makes sense but why do they need the podcast thing mentioned like it’s part of the vows…
