Jason Derulo didn’t freeze when the moment went wrong—he turned it into a beat.

Video from the performance shows Derulo’s fast reflexes as he falls back. uses his arms to rescue himself. and slides slightly across the stage.
As the crowd cheered the close call, Derulo quipped, “I survived.” Then he giggled and carried on with the performance.
The London show brought together a lineup of major pop and music names, with Calvin Harris, Raye, Niall Horan, Bebe Rexha, and Lola Young also on the bill.
Derulo’s tumble didn’t end with the song. Fans praised his recovery, comparing his landing to a Marvel-style save and pointing to how he looked during the tumble. Derulo later reposted the viral clip on his TikTok page and wrote in the comments section, “How I fall for you every time.”
The joke landed in the middle of a longer-running internet conversation about falls that some followers have tried to connect to Derulo’s past public appearances. His remark appeared to nod to a debunked decade-old theory that he had fallen at the 2015 Met Gala after a photo of someone resembling him falling circulated online.
That theory was dismissed after it was later confirmed that the person shown was not Derulo, and that a completely different person who fell at the Cannes Film Festival years earlier was mistaken for him.
In 2015, Derulo clarified that he was not at the Met Gala. In a 2019 post on X, he said he learned about the hoax after his concerned grandmother called. “Let’s clear one thing up, that was NOT me at the #Metgala y’all play too much, I was right on my balcony in Miami,” he recalled.
Derulo’s performance also comes on the heels of a new release cycle: in January, he dropped part one of an EP titled “The Last Dance,” featuring eight tracks.
For a night at Wembley, the story was simple—he went down, he caught himself, and then he turned the viral moment into something the crowd could share.

Kinda wild he just said “I survived” and kept going. Hope he didn’t really hurt anything.
Wait so was this the same Met Gala fall people were talking about? I swear I’ve seen that clip online forever. Like the internet just won’t let him breathe lol.
I don’t get why they keep saying “hoax” like it’s proven. If a person looks like him and falls, then yeah it’s probably him, right? Unless his grandma calls everyone now or whatever.
That “How I fall for you every time” caption is kinda cringe but also lowkey funny. Still, falling on stage at Wembley is not a joke joke… glad he caught himself though. Also the Calvin Harris mention like ok cool who cares, the tumble was the whole story for me.
