Jason Derulo Calls Rocket Carwash His Top Win

At the 2026 American Music Awards, Jason Derulo singled out Rocket Carwash as his most profitable investment, describing a subscription business now valued at $2 billion—and reminding fans that most ventures fail before one lucky hit changes everything.
Jason Derulo didn’t talk like someone giving a polished business tip. He talked like someone excited to point at the one thing that actually worked.
While attending the 2026 American Music Awards this week, the 36-year-old entertainer opened up about the investment that has paid off the most. “My best investment was Rocket Carwash,” he told E! News. “That is something that I can hang my hat on that went very well.”
Derulo’s music career remains central—he’s produced five full-length albums over the years—but he’s also been building other income streams through business ventures and by posting on social media. Still, Rocket Carwash is the venture he highlighted first when it came to results.
The company operates on a subscription-based model, costing users anywhere from $25 to $60 a month depending on which service they want. Rocket Carwash has locations across the country, in states including California, Florida, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, and Pennsylvania. Derulo also shared where the business stands today: it’s now valued at $2 billion.
He didn’t frame that success as guaranteed. He’s seen the downside. “However. the entertainer is well aware of what can happen if ‘it went all wrong.’” Derulo went on to explain that the odds don’t usually lean in your favor. “I got a lot of worst investments, a lot of those,” he told E!. “I think it’s important for people to know that it’ll probably go wrong way more times than it’s gonna go well—but you only need one to go well.”.
“And if you get more than one,” he continued, “fantastic. But you only need really one. Gotta get lucky one time.”
Derulo’s not claiming money is the whole point of his life. Even with multiple ventures—he also includes restaurant Catch LA among his business efforts—he said none of it comes close to what he feels when he performs.
“Despite his various business ventures. which also includes restaurant Catch LA. Jason shares the other businesses won’t ‘even close to the happiness’ he gets from performing. ” the entertainer said. He explained that the gratitude hits before the show and after it, too. “Every single time I’m about to go perform—and every single time after I perform—I say. ‘Thank you. God. for me to be able to do the thing that I love to do most. ’” Derulo dished. “I say, ‘Thank you, God, that I’m able to make the music that I’m making. for people to actually listen to it.’”.
“That is what passion is,” Jason added. “That is what happiness is. It’s not about any dollar or any amount of money.”

Rocket Carwash is worth 2 BILLION?? Why am I not subscribed to this already lol.
Wait so he was like “get lucky one time” but it’s a carwash subscription? I’m confused… is it like a streaming service for washing your car or what.
I don’t get the whole “subscription” thing, like $60 a month to clean a car?? And then he says it’s his best investment like that doesn’t mean anything, because most people can’t even do one billion dollar deal. Also isn’t Iowa kinda random for carwashes? Maybe the whole article is just an ad.
It’s funny how he says it can go wrong way more times than it goes right, then he’s like “but you only need one”… okay sure, I’ll just find my one lucky subscription carwash and be a billionaire too. Meanwhile I can’t even get my car to start in the winter. Also I saw “Catch LA” mentioned and thought he bought a restaurant, not that it was part of the same money stuff. Anyway congrats to him I guess.
