Top Gun: Maverick actor James Handy killed at home

Actor James Handy, who has appeared in films including ‘Jumanji’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ has sadly died. Mr Handy was brutally stabbed to death outside his home on Wednesday. His girlfriend’s son, 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, later allegedly told officers he was the one they were looking for, and he was arrested for the actor’s murder, the California Post reports. The chilling chain of events began when Los Angeles police said they received a disturbing call at around 9.30am Wednesday from a man saying, “I am

the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.” Officers then raced to Handy’s home in the 19200 block of Erwin Street in Tarzana, where they found the 81-year-old unconscious in the front yard and suffering from a stab wound to his chest. Handy was then rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police statement read: “On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, around 9:30 a.m., West Valley area patrol officers responded to a radio call of unknown trouble in the

19200 block of Erwin Street. The 911 caller stated, ‘I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.’ Upon their arrival, officers discovered 81-year-old James Handy in the front yard of the residence, unconscious and suffering from a stab wound to his chest. “The victim was transported to local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect flagged down nearby responding officers, telling them he was the one they were looking for. The suspect resides

at the location with his mother, who is the victim’s girlfriend.” “Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there appears to be no danger to the public at this time,” the police statement said. Handy most recently appeared in Top Gun: Maverick. He also featured on several shows throughout his career which stretches back to the 1970s. These include The West Wing, NYPD Blue, Castle and The X-Files. Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and

  1. Wait so the girlfriend’s son just… showed up and said he was the one? I don’t get how this stuff even happens at someone’s home, like did nobody hear anything before.

  2. I saw somewhere else it was like a robbery thing, but now it’s saying it’s isolated?? People keep mixing these stories up. Also the quote sounds like some cult movie line, so I’m just confused.

  3. Tarzana is pretty wild for this. I don’t know why they’re saying no danger to the public when the caller literally says he killed someone, like yeah obviously there’s danger, what do they expect? And it says he flagged down officers himself, which is either brave or messed up, can’t tell which. Feels like the whole thing was staged with that religious language too, but maybe I’m reading too much into it.
