James Gunn Rejects Teen Titans DCU Movie Claims

James Gunn has stepped in again to shut down a fresh social-media rumor: a claimed Teen Titans movie tied to Sam Levinson and written by Ana Nogueira. Gunn says it’s not true and that he isn’t even in talks with directors about Titans yet.
James Gunn doesn’t usually let DCU rumors linger—especially the ones that spread fast enough to start feeling real.
A new Teen Titans story began circulating on social media. claiming that Euphoria director Sam Levinson was in negotiations to direct a Teen Titans movie for the DCU. with Supergirl’s Ana Nogueira scripting the feature. When Gunn was asked directly whether that rumor was true—and whether a Teen Titans project was in any stage of development—he answered plainly: “No. it’s not true. Not talking to any directors quite yet. This “insider” isn’t inside much… … Not talking to any directors about Titans.”.
The timing matters for fans who’ve been watching the Teen Titans idea for years. The group was first introduced in 1964. and while Teen Titans. Teen Titans Go!. and the live-action Titans series have brought the characters to screens. the team has not fully assembled in the DCU. In the DCEU, the only character to appear from the lineup was Ray Fisher’s Cyborg in 2017’s Justice League.
Gunn’s latest denial also comes after he had to correct other Teen Titans chatter last year. That earlier speculation involved casting timelines after a fan asked whether they could audition for a character. with social media spreading that casting would begin imminently. Gunn has now made his position even more direct: for Teen Titans in the DCU. there’s no ready-to-film movie on the table—at least not in the way the rumor described.
The knock-on effect is simple. Every time a new “insider” claim pops up, fans fill in the blanks. Gunn, at least in this case, refuses to let the imagination get ahead of the work.
At the same time. the wider DCU slate is still moving. just not with Teen Titans as the next confirmed step. The DCU has not officially announced a Teen Titans adaptation. but other projects have been confirmed in an official capacity—starting with Matt Reeves’ continuing Elseworlds saga. The Batman: Part II. currently in production. Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne. and the sequel will also feature MCU stars Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent and Scarlett Johansson.
Gunn also shared last year that the Peacemaker spin-off. Waller—featuring the return of Viola Davis—remains in development. though the process has been slow. There’s also a Superman spin-off starring Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen. That series does not have an official name yet. and it was said to follow Olsen and his Daily Planet colleagues as they “investigate stories involving super-powered villains. ” including Gorilla Grodd.
For fans hoping the Teen Titans rumor becomes real soon, Gunn’s message lands with the same weight each time: the Titans aren’t on the inside track he’s talking about. Not yet.

So basically everyone’s lying again? Gunn shut it down fast.
I swear the internet said Sam Levinson was directing and Ana Nogueira was writing and now it’s “not true.” How do people even make this stuff up lol. Not talking to any directors yet… okay sure.
Wait Ray Fisher’s Cyborg doesn’t count as Teen Titans? I thought that was the whole build up. Also “Not talking to any directors” sounds like he’s just playing coy. These rumors probably start because someone heard something, right?
Every time I see a Teen Titans post it’s some “insider” name dropping like it’s already greenlit. Gunn says he’s not in talks yet but the timing part is messy because fans been waiting forever. Also I didn’t even know Titans was a 1964 thing until now, so maybe all these accounts just recycle old info. Either way I’m tired, just announce it or don’t.
