Jackery unveils FridgeGuard with up to 30-hour backup

Jackery FridgeGuard – Jackery is expanding its home backup lineup with FridgeGuard, a 2.6-inch-thick refrigerator backup battery built for fast switchover and up to 30 hours of runtime with expansion. Alongside it, the company also announced three new HomePower Series batteries lau

The worst part of a blackout isn’t always the darkness—it’s what happens to the fridge. Groceries go from “fine” to “maybe not” on a clock measured in hours, and Jackery is betting that the next time the power cuts out, the countdown can start looking a lot more manageable.

The company is introducing FridgeGuard, a refrigerator backup battery it says is the world’s slimmest. It measures just 2.6 inches thick and weighs 23 pounds, designed to fit right beside a refrigerator, lie flat, or be mounted on a wall.

Inside, FridgeGuard uses a 1024Wh battery. Jackery says it can deliver up to 15 hours of runtime, extending to 30 hours with an optional expansion battery. The switchover is rated at 10ms, aimed at keeping the fridge running without the compressor even having time to react. Jackery also built in a 1600W peak output for compressor startups. along with surge protection and a bypass mode intended to preserve battery health once the battery is fully charged.

FridgeGuard isn’t limited to kitchen cold storage. Jackery says it can also support home offices, aquariums, and CPAP devices.

Pricing and availability are set for a Costco exclusive launch at $559.99 for members.

If you’re thinking bigger than a single appliance, Jackery’s new HomePower Series is meant to cover more ground—starting with a flagship unit that can be scaled for whole-home backup.

The HomePower 3600 Pro Max ($2,999) comes with 3584Wh of base capacity and can scale up to 43kWh. Jackery says it can pair with a Manual Transfer Switch to back up an entire home automatically.

There’s also the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 ($1,799), aimed at flexible scaling and solar charging. It offers 2048Wh that can expand up to 12kWh through battery stacking.

For smaller, more targeted needs, the HomePower 1000 v2 ($849) is built with home offices in mind, offering 1024Wh and built-in surge protection for sensitive electronics.

All three HomePower models use LiFePO4 batteries rated for 6000 cycles, which Jackery says translates to roughly 16 years of use. The HomePower Series launches June 23 through Jackery’s website and Amazon.

Jackery is entering a category that’s getting more crowded—home backup batteries designed specifically for refrigerators. Earlier this month, Anker introduced the Solix S2000, a compact power station that claims up to 35 hours of fridge runtime during a blackout.

  1. 30 hours for a fridge is kinda wild… but like how often do blackouts last that long though? Also $559 seems steep for something that just keeps milk from spoiling.

  2. Wait so it’s like a backup battery but it’s built into a fridge? I saw 10ms switchover and thought that’s like instant, but then it says 15 hours runtime? So which is it, 15 or 30? Idk I’m confused.

  3. “World’s slimmest” sounds like marketing. 23 pounds and 2.6 inches thick still seems like it takes up space next to the fridge… and does it work if the power goes out for the whole block? My neighbors’ house always loses it longer than that.

  4. Costco exclusive is the only reason I’d even look at this. For $559 you’d think it runs everything, not just the fridge. Also 1600W peak output?? That seems like overkill unless your compressor is on steroids lol.
