Jack Quaid Reveals Sydney Wedding Details With Claudia Doumit

Jack Quaid says his April wedding to Claudia Doumit—held in Sydney because she’s Aussie—blended Lebanese family traditions, a drum-led entrance, and a mechanical bull that nearly everyone tried. He also shares that Karl Urban, Colby Minifie, and Nathan Mitchel
When Jack Quaid stepped onto the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, the conversation quickly turned to the wedding he’s still buzzing about. The Boys star and his co-star Claudia Doumit tied the knot back in April—and on Kimmel’s show, he filled in the details of what the day actually looked like.
“It happened,” Quaid said. “I’m so happy about it.”
Quaid revealed that the wedding took place in Sydney, Australia. He explained that Doumit is Aussie, and they planned the event on her home turf. Then he leaned into the joke that has probably been living in his head since the invitations went out.
“We’re the very first co-stars to ever get married. It’s never happened before,” he said, calling themselves “pioneers” and adding, “It’s crazy, it’s never happened.”
Kimmel asked whether weddings in Australia follow the same playbook as in the U.S., or whether there are different customs. Quaid didn’t just answer—he described the moment his American guests looked around, confused, and then threw themselves into it.
“Half of her family is Lebanese and a thing they like to do in their weddings is… you know, it was the beginning of the reception,” he said. “We’re coming into the big tent and we had a guy… I told none of the Americans this, they were very confused.”
That confusion didn’t last. Quaid said a man with a big drum led them into the reception as Doumit’s Lebanese relatives got up. Then the shoulders came into play.
“Claudia‘s Lebanese relatives, all of her relatives, they got up, they lifted us up on their shoulders,” he recalled. “It was amazing. The Americans were very confused but very game.”
If the drums kicked the energy level up, Quaid said the biggest challenge was that it happened a little too fast.
“And if I had one note from my wedding is that people got too amped too fast,” he said. “Like because of the drums it was like, we were begging people to sit down and eat dinner.”
He remembered friends stopping at his table with a kind of overwhelmed excitement—part encouragement, part bewilderment.
“I remember I had friends coming up to my table being like, ‘I don’t know what’s happening, but I love you!’” Quaid said. “It was… it was great. It was really good.”
As for how he kept the party moving, he pointed to the most chaotic-sounding moment of all: a mechanical bull.
“But it was it was okay, ’cause towards the end of the wedding this was my contribution. We had a mechanical bull,” he said. When Kimmel pressed him on why a bull was part of the plan, Quaid’s answer was simple.
“Just for fun,” he said. “It was great. So many people did it. I did it. I somehow didn’t split my pants. It was wonderful.”
Quaid added that if there’s a takeaway from the day, it’s that he believes the mechanical bull is a reliable way to burn off energy in a way that doesn’t derail dinner or the schedule.
“If you want people’s energy to get out in like a different way, mechanical bull for the wedding. I really recommend it,” he said.
Doumit, too, got in on the fun. Quaid described seeing her in full wedding dress on the bull.
“I have an amazing shot of her like full wedding dress on a mechanical bull. It was amazing,” he said.
He also said older guests rode it, and he made sure to address safety.
“The older folks also rode the bull, and to my knowledge, ‘No one was hurt or injured,’” Quaid said. He added that the whole thing turned surreal as the night went on.
“There was this weird montage of like everyone in my life on the mechanical bull,” he said. “It’s very surreal. We were like, ‘Oh, I went to high school with him. There he goes. Very cool.’”
Quaid said the guest list struck a good balance between attendees and the couple’s broader circle, and he named several co-stars who made it.
He said it was “a good split” of who attended, including Karl Urban, Colby Minifie and Nathan Mitchell.
Between the drum-led entrance. the Lebanese family tradition that lifted the couple on their shoulders. and the mechanical bull that had wedding guests—young and old—lining up for their turn. Quaid’s April wedding in Sydney sounded like a celebration that never let anyone settle into “normal.” And judging by how happily he talked about it. that was exactly the point.

Mechanical bull at a wedding is insane lol.
Wait so Sydney wedding but Lebanese traditions?? I’m confused like which one is the actual theme. Also drum led entrance sounds like a parade.
Karl Urban was there right? But the article says co-stars getting married like it never happened before… pretty sure actors marry all the time. Unless they mean those specific shows or something.
Half Lebanese relatives lifted their shoulders into the big tent and the Americans were “very confused” — honestly that feels like every wedding I’ve been to. But isn’t Sydney in Australia already, like why is the confusion the Americans? Also that “pioneers” line is kinda cringe but I get it.
