Jabees Peace Duo under-pillow speaker targets private sleep

Jabees Peace – A new ultra-thin under-pillow speaker from Jabees uses bone conduction to deliver audio privately, pairing built-in sleep soundscapes on a micro SD card with Bluetooth streaming. It’s priced at $59.99, designed to last up to ten nights per charge, but it may s

For years, sleep has been a battle I never really trained for. Even now. when my mind starts looping through everything it shouldn’t. I fall back on the same coping move: audio that keeps me busy enough to drift off. The problem is always the same, too. Earbuds can feel uncomfortable. and blasting sound out loud isn’t exactly considerate when I’m staying at my partner’s place.

That’s why the Jabees Peace Duo Under-Pillow Speaker caught my attention.

Launched last month, the Peace Duo is an ultra-thin speaker built around bone conduction. Instead of filling the room, it sends vibrations through your skull directly to your inner ear. The pitch is simple: place it beneath your pillow and listen privately as you fall asleep.

When I tested it, the device was so thin that I kept forgetting it was there. I mostly relied on the built-in sleep sounds, which come preloaded on a micro SD card with four hours of soothing soundscapes. The selection includes gentle waves, light rain, rain with thunder, and soft wind.

If you want something more personal, the Peace Duo also offers Bluetooth connectivity. That means you can connect your phone and stream your favorite audio instead.

Battery life is another reason the device feels designed for real nightly use. Jabees says a single charge lasts up to ten nights of one-hour listening sessions, so you’re not stuck remembering to charge a new gadget every other day.

It also folds into a foldable design and comes with an included magnetic fabric travel case, which makes it easier to pack without turning your bedroom into a charging station.

There’s one catch that matters immediately if your sleep setup is already dialed in: the speaker doesn’t work well with thick memory foam pillows. In my case. that was the blocker—I normally use a thick memory foam pillow. so I switched to a regular cotton pillow. With the cotton pillow, the sound came through clearly.

The company claims thinner memory foam pillows should work fine, but the experience underscores how sensitive this kind of bone-conduction setup can be to what’s between the speaker and your head.

The Peace Duo costs $59.99 and comes in two colors: Sunrise Yellow and Mist Green. It also includes personalization options. Users can swap out the magnetic snap-on frames for custom images and add their names. making it positioned as more than a gadget—something meant for families. students. or anyone who could use extra help winding down.

Insomnia isn’t something a thin speaker under a pillow can cure. But as a practical, unobtrusive sleep device, it’s the kind of small, specific solution that may help people like me finally stop wrestling with the same thoughts every night—if only long enough to fall asleep.
