Eric Trump moved fast on Sunday night, rejecting claims that he messaged former UFC star Daniel Cormier about whether the UFC fights held on the White House South Lawn were “rigged.”
The dispute flared after Cormier reportedly posted screenshots of alleged direct messages on X, then deleted them. The fights were part of Sunday’s celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, with the event drawing attention far beyond the usual sports crowd.
In the posts that Cormier reportedly shared before removing them, Trump was said to have asked whether any of the UFC matchups were “rigged.” Newsweek has not seen the original posts.
Trump denied the claim in a series of social media statements, saying the screenshots being circulated are AI-generated. “We are aware of the fake, AI generated screenshots being circulated online. I have never spoken to Daniel. He has since deleted his post. which confirms it was clearly fabricated. ” Trump wrote on X. tagging the accounts of UFC and UFC CEO Dana White.
In an earlier post, Trump wrote: “This is completely fake! I have never reached out to Daniel. In fact, this is scary.” He also thanked Cormier for a later post on X in which Cormier wrote: “Are people really this dumb?”

Wait so Daniel Cormier posted them then deleted them and Eric said AI did it. Honestly sounds like he’s covering something up though. Like why delete at all?
Not gonna lie I don’t buy it. If he never spoke to Daniel then why is Dana White getting tagged and why is this even trending. Also “rigged” is such a weird word to use, like maybe it was just regular trash talk and people ran with it.
The whole White House South Lawn UFC thing feels cursed anyway. First they do a celebration and then boom rigged allegations and AI screenshots. How do we know it’s even AI and not just edited, and what screenshots showed “rigged” like rigged as in the refs or the matchups? idk, seems messy.
