Ivanka Trump sends support after Vanessa cancer announcement

Ivanka Trump took to Instagram comments to send prayers and love to ex-sister-in-law Vanessa Trump after Vanessa, 48, announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer on May 20.

Ivanka Trump didn’t wait long to respond to the news.

On Wednesday, May 20, Vanessa Trump, 48, shared a personal update on Instagram: she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. “I want to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer,” Vanessa wrote. She added that she is “working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan” and thanked her doctors for performing a procedure earlier that week.

Vanessa also said she is “focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.” She closed by asking for privacy as she focuses on her health and recovery.

In the wake of Vanessa’s post, Ivanka, 44, showed up in the comments with a message of support. “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery,” Ivanka wrote. “Love you mama.”

Vanessa’s diagnosis comes after years of family ties that are still deeply personal. Vanessa was married to Ivanka’s older brother, Donald Trump Jr., from 2005 to 2018. Together, they share five children: Kai, 19; Donald, 17; Tristan, 14; Spencer, 13; and Chloe, 11.

Vanessa has also been connected to a new chapter outside the family. In November 2024, Vanessa began dating professional golf player Tiger Woods.

The timing of her cancer announcement lands just weeks after a difficult stretch for Woods. He was arrested for DUI after a rollover car crash in Florida, his second major crash in five years.
